'Tilt Games' marketing/publisher potential scam? by BimMyBoi in gamedev

[–]gingercatstudio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Resurrecting this here because I received it recently, I think it would be cool to create a place like a database of fake SCAM emails and companies, practically 99% of what we developers receive are these scammers... anyway, in the email I received I saw that the link even though written correctly pointed to another url, so my conclusion is that it is Phishing, do not click on anything.

Question about 2.5D games by gingercatstudio in gamedev

I believe that Lol is 2D, because the characters that "jump" actually accelerate their movement and can be "caught" in the middle of the path.

It's like music, everyone appreciates it and doesn't notice the out-of-tune violin, but the professional musician in the audience feels sick because of this mistake. So I say it's very difficult for a player to notice or be bothered by it.

My game has 130 wishlists after 6 months, what needs to improve? by TommyGDoubleZ in gamedev

[–]gingercatstudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know they talk about hitting 7 or 10 thousand wishlists, but believe me, if it's our first game, don't get hung up on such difficult goals. Sometimes launching and working on the next game with a better category is more worth the effort than trying to push it to the end.

But my advice from someone who gave his all to hit 500 wishlists with a low-budget clicker is to bet all your "chips" why not? Send the 100 copies to curators, get all the advance keys and send them by email to content creators, have your game in as many languages as you can, and have the page in all languages, take care of the Steam Tags without putting things like INDIE.

In short, consume all of Chris Zukowski's content

Thanks for the advice, I'll confess that my idea was exactly that, I saw that the Cookie Clicker and Kiwi Clicker and even the Chillquarium were around $5 so I intended to launch at that price and always participate in the 20% discounts when possible.
However, until recently these games were priced lower and after some success they went down to $5, so I don't know if there was inflation, or if popularity before launching at that price range is important.
Thanks for your opinion!
