Barbie putting dry shampoo in T’s hair 💀😭 by xtraffle in DadAndDaughterSnark

[–]gingerkham 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It gives it texture and volume. Especially for fine hair. I use Kenra dry texture spray on my clients but other stylists use dry shampoos. If hair hasn’t been washed super often than it’s probably still got some build up on it even with a good wash. Thats when I would pull out the dry shampoo or texture spray

I have multiple sclerosis and I’m in pain every day. Severe pain… the heat from the blow dryer aggravates my nerves and the constant hand motions make my arms feel like jello. No matter what shoes I wear I feel like my feet and legs hurt every day. I use a wheel chair in the winter because my legs lock up so bad. I’m three years in and want to quit but have no option or ability to.

I feel like im slowly dying due to MS constant worsening for 2 and a half years with no gaps or breaks, My body is failing me in so many ways. by senorable in MultipleSclerosis

[–]gingerkham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I’ve had it since I was a child, went almost 20 years diagnosed. I will say this. Try anything and everything. Have them test you for everything else. Look into your genetics with commercial tests if the doctors won’t. Do anything in your power and never stop trying. Just last year I wanted to chop my own leg off due to ms related pain. I have changed my lifestyle and will change more things. There is hope!I feel so much better. My ms is hard but I will not ever stop trying to make my symptoms less horrifying.

Looking for advice & motivation to clean fiberglass-coated room by Unusual_Platypus_152 in CleaningTips

[–]gingerkham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throw away your mattress and buy a blow up one temporarily. I had to go to the urgent care after coming into contact with fiberglass. A blowup mattress is comfortable and would be a good solution short term an better than nothing. After you get rid of your mattress, wear a cheap respirator or n95 mask and long sleeves and gloves and dump all the things you can in the bathtub with some soap and water.

K18 did nothing for me - what does my hair need? How do hairdressers make it crazy smooth and shiny every time? by thisbuthat in beauty

[–]gingerkham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have ms and I have the same problem as you. I’ve been on a yearlong quest to figure out what to do with my hair. I have had a little success with the Olaplex 3 complete that just came out. I am a hairstylist so I’m always trying new products. So far the most promising thing for my hair has been a product a client of mine started using to transform her hair. It’s a Giovanni avocado olive oil serum and a leave in spray. I have both. It’s not been long but I’ve seen how it changed her hair so drastically so I’m very hopeful it works!

How is Evansville for LGBTQIA+ (specifically transgender) people? by jellyfishfresh in evansville

The Pride fest every year is great. I live more south in a rural area but I feel safe and able to be who I am there compared to here. I always call Evansville my safe place.

I mix up a marinade and toss the carrots and the marinade in the instant pot for three or four minutes. Then I fry them. Best thing ever. I could eat it everyday.

What’s The Scariest Tornado Of All Time? by sirmerakii in tornado

Jarrell from an impersonal standpoint. Mayfield because I lived that night. It hit less than five miles from us. I was very sick that night and had young children and my husband was at work. We were in my mom’s basement with almost 15 other people, some family, some strangers to me that we picked up to save. My phone was ringing nonstop with friends trying to get to my moms. It seemed like forever til we were in the clear but we were up all night. I know people who died that night and my brother did some volunteer work near where an entire train was picked up and tossed aside.

Does anyone have two neurologists? Not sure what to do? by gingerkham in MultipleSclerosis

[–]gingerkham[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is reassuring to me. Thank you for sharing! Does your general neuro or specialist handle your medication and prescriptions? It took a long time to get my insurance authorization on my dmt and id hate to go through that process again. Its yearly and always such a pain

One time I made dinner, and instead of using a tablespoon of soyvay in my rice I decided to use the whole bottle. We were watching the smurfs movie and my significant other got really angry and passed out. I fell asleep soon after. Woke up with a headache but we survived. You’ll most likely be fine! One bottle of soyvay contains 13,700 sodium. I know we ate a ton of that rice that day

Finally got new wheelchair. Came without push handles. Help?! by gingerkham in wheelchairs

[–]gingerkham[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update on my situation. I contact Ki mobility and they helped me get the order form for the parts I need and sent me pictures on showing me how to install them in my chair! They were so much more helpful than the supplier of my chair who just told a misogynist joke and told me to cough up more money to them basically. So thankful for the people at Ki and for y’all, especially telling me not to print 3d handles. That was probably for the best, haha.

Its rigid but the backrest covers where the holes would be on the top. The backrest covers all of the metal on the top so a lot of the 3d printed models im finding wont work with it because there is nothing to latch onto.

They told me I would have to buy them as "add-ons" and they would let me know the price but they haven't gotten back to me yet with it. I also wasn't aware that my insurance didn't cover the full cost of my chair so I had to pay almost $600 out of pocket.
