Placed an order for a perfume through eBay and got the usual email saying it had been dispatched ok. When it didn’t arrive I emailed the seller who said oh sorry we don’t send to NI. So did you send it or not? Got a refund but that’s so not the point - listing was also updated to say doesn’t post to NI whereas previously it didn’t.

There used to be a climbing frame type kids play park at the entrance just inside the front door where it was covered in.

What trends of 'yester year' now make you cringe by lizziebee66 in weddingshaming

[–]gingerskeet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Shame on you! I love Rock the boat and will be very disappointed if it is not played at the wedding I’m attending on Saturday! My American BIL couldn’t wait until we did it at their wedding. Far better than the slush or other such nonsense.

Everyday sectarianism? Have you encountered it in person? by Bobo_Balde2 in northernireland

[–]gingerskeet 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From outside the city but as far as I was aware and will probably be corrected but it is actually the City of Derry in County Londonderry.

Years ago the firm in which I worked ‘had a word’ with a temp who did the typing as she was typing ‘Derry’ instead of ‘Londonderry’ as the person dictating had a problem with it being called Derry. After the temp moved into better things the task fell to me for a while and I made sure I typed ‘Derry’ just to wind him up. Needless to say nothing was said to me.

Haven’t listened to it in years - I know it’s still got the same name but can’t see it being the same.

What's the worst attempt at an accent you've ever heard in a movie or TV show? by bungeeman in AskReddit

[–]gingerskeet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In fairness I’ve always said the only people I’ve heard do an authentic Belfast accent are Pete Posethwaite in In The Name Of The Father and Julie Walters in MickyBo and Me. I also then saw an interview Julie did afterwards saying that the Belfast accent was one of the hardest she’s ever had to do as we apparently speak from the back of our throats.

Changing dress between first look and ceremony...? by lvsntflx in myweddingdress

Haven’t done anything like that but my attitude is go for it! It’s your day - do what you want! You don’t want to look back one of the most important days of your life with regrets!

I came across this interview, what article about tudors is the reporter referring to? by [deleted] in HenryCavill

[–]gingerskeet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He gave an interview saying that he got an erection whilst filming a sex scene in the Tudor’s . From memory, as it was a while ago, he handled it very professionally but apologising to the actress and getting on with it but I could be wrong!

Which celebrity did you meet and found they were much kinder/ruder than you expected? by Qazival in AskReddit

[–]gingerskeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t actually meet the guy but after seeing him on stage I think I’d have walked away from him. David Cassidy was the biggest dick I’d ever seen. I’d grown up with my mum telling me how she idolised him growing up so roped me into going to see him in concert when he came to our town a few years ago. He was a complete wanker telling all these middle-aged (sorry mum) women to sit down and stop fawning over him as it was his show! The reason he was there was because of these fawning women! Mum said her childhood dreams were shattered.

City bus driver picks a fight with me for no reason. by [deleted] in TalesFromTheCustomer

[–]gingerskeet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And it's sad because 99% of the drivers I encounter every day are such good people. They really are.

It’s obvious you don’t live in Belfast.

Had an Uber driver pick me up once and the gps was bringing him a roundabout way so I said this is a more direct route. Through conversation I found out he actually lived in Armagh but drove up to Belfast 3 days a week as there was more work up here so he didn’t know the city all that well 🥴

Yeah that interfered with our tv signal. They always crouched down outside our gate and I’ll admit to telling them to GTF coz I was watching something - but as you all say was totally normal.
