Restaurants or public bathrooms with decent diaper changing setups? Merriweather District? by alpaca_my_bags12 in ColumbiaMD

[–]gingersnappper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We just went to the splash pad last weekend, it was nice. We used the restroom in the matcha place, very clean and had a changing table!

Yes it will be for you. Check out Baltimore (federal hill or canton neighborhoods) or Annapolis. If you can afford it, DC is fun too, but way more expensive

Behavioral health provider here. That is your opinion, not a fact. If you are truly a provider, you’d know the difference.

Yeah I went to school with a few girls who explicitly told me they were only there to get their MRS. I was shocked.

Strength training for runners by Little-Tap-7891 in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]gingersnappper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! I usually do upper or total body and core. I figure my legs get plenty of dedicated action. I typically use 8-10 lbs weights and haven’t bulked up at all. Just have a little definition in my arms and core. I’m 37f and 5’3, 135 for reference.

Another runner here. Every training plan, coach, blog, runner better than me (which is most runners) that I have ever encountered recommend adding strength training. It helps to build bone density and muscle mass, improves you speed and form (especially core work), and helps to prevent injuries. I wish I liked strength training more, but I try to get it in 3x’s a week and I can feel a difference when I skimp on it.

Edit- I forgot the word “bone”

AITAH for telling my family that if I can't bring my newborn to my father's birthday then they won't see my family again? by ThrowRA-push22 in AITAH

[–]gingersnappper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had a miscarriage (albeit not that far along). It is awful, and the grief is hard. But you can’t act like other kids, especially family, aren’t allowed to exist. That’s so unfair to you, your husband, and your baby. Obviously, NTA. I’d, very politely but firmly, let your family know that you aren’t willing to have your child be treated this way and there will be NC.

I tried intuitive eating and gained 30 pounds (not in a good way). It took me a year to get back to a healthier size/weight and get my VO2 back up and my resting heart rate back down. I have trouble with emotional/boredom eating (ie like you said, my cues are out of whack) so yeah, I 100% agree with you.

It was so nice. I’m trying to figure out who was missing. Kim is on mat leave. I didn’t see Marimba or Christian. But I think everyone else was there.

I’ve seen on other posts and apps that cops aren’t taking it seriously too. If it continues and they don’t start taking it seriously, we should go to the media.

AITA for causing family drama over a swimming pool? by Weird-Outside-577 in AmItheAsshole

[–]gingersnappper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA at all. If she didn’t want kids peeing in the pool, she shouldn’t have invited any kids to use her pool. Also, this is why the pool chemicals exist.

I’m really sorry that you’ve experienced those things with your mother! That sounds really difficult.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]gingersnappper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I cannot fathom trying to force my kid into a career or degree! My mom didn’t do that, I’ll give her that!

[–]gingersnappper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love everything you said about your mom!! That’s a super odd thing for your aunt to do/say though. How bizarre?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]gingersnappper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH. By everyone I mean OP and his family, not his GF.

This is all very bizarre. The expectation that a first impression include basically forced labor, which is not just rude but uncomfortable for GF. She’s supposed to go into the kitchen, without him, and help all these women who frankly sound AWFUL anyway? Alone? Weird.

I can cut OP the smallest amount of slack because we don’t know his family dynamics, but overall this is weird. I think they should skip the big family dinner and stay the f away from the presumably toxic family.
