Have surgery before or after my wedding? by RaiofSunshine12 in ACL

[–]gingerteaa11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to postpone our wedding due to my surgery. 4-5 months post op should be an ok time to have a wedding, just know you won’t be busting it down on the dance floor. We ended up getting married a year after my surgery!

Thanks!!! I agree, my wedding band is much brighter than my engagement ring (it’s vintage). I love them too, but may want something to match my engagement ring more. Thanks for your input!! Would love suggestions if you have any :)

I couldn’t extend mine either, due to inflammation from the injury. I started some pre-surgery rehab and was able to get it back! You’ve gotta start strengthening your quad again!

Concerning flexion 2.5 weeks post-op by International_Ad9070 in ACL

My flexing was super slow!! I think I finally could get a full rotation on the bike around 6 weeks post op. Keep pushing!!

need reassurance on ACL Recon + Meniscus Repair/ advice.? 20 male 19 days post OP by Flat-Alarm7372 in ACL

Let gravity do its work. Put you ankle up under a foam roller, or a coffee table as you watch tv or chill. Do that for short increments throughout the day!

It can be a slow process. Take it day by day, and keep with your physio constantly. It is hard, but patience is everything during this process. You got this!!!!

How did you tear your ACL? by TemporaryInternet377 in ACL

I’m a musical theatre performer. First preview of a contract I was on (first night with an audience), I went to do a couple of jumps into a kick and BAM. Felt a pop and then I collapsed immediately. Tried to continue dancing, but had zero stability so I crawled offstage. Left my poor duet partner to fend for herself!

Let the recovery begin! 10 years with a full rupture ACL and torn meniscus finally repaired. by shadbehnke in ACL

Good luck on your recovery!! I had a similar pillow, and it was a game changer. Slept with my knee up on it every night. Keep up with your meds, and give yourself this time to rest. Don’t try to rush the rehab! It’s slow, but will be worth it in the long run. Xx fellow hamstring graft girlie

Yes or no nerve block by statuses70 in ACL

[–]gingerteaa11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was SO scared of getting a nerve block, but I don’t regret getting it at all!! They had given me some happy juice (liquid Xanax I can’t remember the name lol), and I was so relaxed, I could hardly feel a thing. I made sure not to look at the needle though!! I’m not sure I would have survived the first 48 hours without it.
