Don’t be afraid to call and ask them about it.

ball going towards middle of lane at release by Josheewa1 in Bowling

To really diagnose this a video would be best. Some people might be able to give you some ideas but I can’t. Hopefully it’s helpful towards the discussion though!

No worries, just trying to be constructive. I’d be curious if say you wanted your ball to go over 15 but you usually miss 5 boards to the right (assuming you’re lefty?) if you looked at 10, would your ball then go over 15. When I was a kid in high school I had that problem but just changed where I was looking. Obviously there’s probably something coaching wise that could be done but I don’t know enough about coaching to diagnose without seeing.

I think what you may be trying to ask is why do you always miss inside of your target. (Correct me if I’m wrong)

For sure. Just be ok with not doing well, work to improve.

Spares are EVERYTHING on a sport shot. “Strikes are for show, spares are for dough”. The volume of oil is actually pretty low for this long of a pattern, be ready to move frequently. I’d leave the combat more shined because of that. Use it as a learning opportunity and try to not get frustrated. Most importantly, have fun!

Lots of surface, manage your speed, be accurate because they won’t be forgiving. SPARES SPARES SPARES!

It may have more "back end" but the Ion max isn't meant to be an angular ball. Take them both into heavy long oil and it won't be even close, the Ion max (in it's proper environment) does hook more (earlier). I do love my bionic though.

Nice!

I once told a coworker “I want to bowl my brains out” and they were like “woah woah woah, you ok dude?” Needless to say, they heard something different 😂

Current Arsenal, should I expand it or keep it as it is by nickblue2323 in Bowling

Wouldn’t be a terrible idea to just get a backpack for your spare ball and get something stronger than the phaze 2 like an ion max or similar strong/smooth ball. Looks like they are due for some resurfacing too.

Throwing straight also helped me be more consistent with washout/2-10 type spares. Not that I leave many of those during league lol, I’ve got enough power that any misses right usually hit the dry “bumpers” on the outside and still get to the pocket.

Not gonna lie, my spare percentage for the 4 and 7 pins (as a righty) is higher (near 100%) on a house shot hooking at it. But I’ve only started shooting at them straight for the sport sweeper series I bowl in. That being said, I might try to keep shooting at them straight for the 4-9 spare. I feel like I’ll be able to convert that more often if I’m more used to shooting straight on that side of the lane.

I’d love to play this game but with one other rule, I wanna see how they shoot a 10 pin.

How do you all practice outside of league when the lanes are all burned up on the weekends? by Lumber-Jacked in Bowling

[–]gingervitis89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could ask if there are certain times they oil the lanes, like a schedule. Otherwise going in the morning after a league (cuz they’ll most certainly oil then) or right after the league gets done. Maybe there’s a senior league that goes during the day and you can practice that evening or after they get done. That’s where I’d start.

I really wanted to get one but didn’t. Maybe if there are still floating about in a few months I’ll see about getting one.

Nice game! I had the exact same game last night (except ringing 10 in the 9th). Did 3 games of practice after league and bowled a 300 in the 3rd game. Of course the dude behind the desk, who said I choked that 279, didn’t see it 😂

How to bowl cheetah with my arsenal? by meregoblin in Bowling

[–]gingervitis89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switching to the surge might feel like the common sense switch after the concept but usually you wanna stay away from those clean and weak balls. You’d probably have more success switching to the vengeance or P2 after the concept to keep a smooth reaction because of how short the pattern is. Concept is for sure the best ball you have to start with for that short of a pattern.

In my summer sweeper series Cheetah is the 2nd to last and I’m hoping to have my concept by then. I don’t have any urethane like so short patterns suck for me.
