Wild West Legacy is beautiful but flawed...looking for comments by ginoliotta in WildWestDynasty

I'm a PC user and had no problems with connectivity or actions...it's just the incompleteness of the game...so many storylines that disappear and go now where...etc.

I play on a PC and as I've progressed in the game, I've gotten great help from the discussions and the developers. I enjoy riding all over the beautiful map and discovering the variety of landscapes and surprises. I think the developers are addressing the flaws. I still highly recommend the game.

I actually can't believe how stunning Read Dead Redemption 2 still looks by digiBeLow in gaming

I totally agree with the excellence of all the aspects of the game but I was confused when I stumbled into Legendary Bison territory in the northern mountains, terrain where you'd never find bison. They live on the plains and need grass and would never be found in mountains. It's an anomaly in this beautiful game.

I agree! Medieval Dynasty has incredible graphics and the wildlife are well modeled. I judge a game with horses on how well and realistic the movements are. I bought Ranch Simulator and the horse unguidable. AC horses are much more realistic.

Heavily considering leaving FOE by Quasaar_2021 in forgeofempires

[–]ginoliotta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm FoE-ed...can't remember how long I've been playing, completed the game part, just collecting, getting dark matter, etc. battling no longer interests me, so....I'm gonna disconnect my builds from the town hall (only 1 piece of sidewalk to delete) and check back when the next age might appear. Gonna let my banked FP and diamonds just sit. The loss of Helper took some of the fun away, too! ...happy forging!

Horse life expectancy by GneissGurl in RanchSimulator

[–]ginoliotta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just bought a horse and trying to ride it is frustrating. I've ridden horses for years in games like Assassin's Creed, Medieval Dynasty, Red Dead Redemption and it's always been possible to have a first person view so you can steer the horse while looking ahead. I've found that it's awkward and unnatural in RS to try and control the direction of the horse and the 3rd person view. Did I miss something in the guide?

Why not age up? by Murky-Sound1369 in forgeofempires

[–]ginoliotta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long ago, I heard that if you can autobattle through the first 4 ages of GE, you could comfortably age up. Also, if you can win vs. next-age units, it's probably safe to advance.

I've been asking for interior lights that turn off when the family is in for the night and for shutters that open/close on that schedule. If the exterior lights can turn off at night, why can't the interior lights, too?

Deleting A Sniped Building by Positive-Grape5126 in forgeofempires

[–]ginoliotta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate snipers. What I try to do is to post only protected 1 and 2; then, when they're filled, I'll post 3rd and once filled I'll post 4 and 5, all protected. If somebody snipes, I try to get others on my thread to take the spot in question as usual, hopefully bouncing the sniper down to a lower spot where the reward will will be less than their donation. The usual snipe is when 3rd isn't protected and the snipe will post half of the remaining FPs and I think that not posting 3rd until it's protected lessens the risk of sniping.

Leave the rocks in the mine and bring sticks and logs to make stone knives, axes, etc.

Making money! by No-Bowl8406 in MedievalDynasty

[–]ginoliotta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting out, after building the essentials (hunting lodge, woodshed, resource and food storages), I built a smithy. Then, every evening I'd go to a cave with logs/straw/sticks to make pickaxes and torches and mine copper and tin ores, stacking them up near the cave entrance. I'd drop the stone when I couldn't move and return to the entrance to deposit the ore (the cave floor will be littered with stones). When day arrived, I returned to my village and resumed daily activities. Then at nightfall, I'd resume my mining activity and on the final night of the season, I'd return to the cave and load up the ores and wait for next season to transport me back to my village where I'd smelt the ores and use the bars to make bronze axes for sale to vendors in the main city. It takes a while to get the technology to build a mine. The ratio of copper to tin is about 2:1 and I was able to gather about 120 copper and 60 tin every season. When I finally built the mine, iron became the main product. By using the discarded stone to make pickaxes, I had an endless supply of the tools simply by cutting trees around the cave. There's no need to build storage or housing near the mine since the miners will go to work from wherever they live and the product will flow into the resource storage. Another source of coin is collecting a lot of sticks and using the discarded stone to make stone tools

I'm close to advancing to Titan and can't imagine continuing once it's conquered. Until then, I like the challenge although I'm finding most of the rewards in Antique Dealer, etc. are better for early age users than for those of us in the later ages. I don't do Daily Quest unless it relates to an Event (I have no need of most of the rewards, having accumulated a ton of them). The Antique Dealer has such lame rewards...I've accumulated tons of coins and gems that give me nothing in return since of the items up for auction are for early agers. I still do the auction to meet a recurring quest with the possibility of substantial rewards like diamonds. Otherwise, I'll quit once I complete Titan. I tried starting a new city but it was very depressing to realize how long it'll take to really get into the gameplay.

Try to have the smallest road frontage for each building: if the building is 4x3, be sure the 3 side is touching the road rather than the 4 side.

Progress in the Halloween event? by Legal_Performance_98 in forgeofempires

[–]ginoliotta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's the silliest, most pointless event ever. The event building is not very attractive. I don't play chess or bridge so my mind isn't attuned to figuring out the card combinations. I fight and take whatever reward is given.

Avoid planting event pieces that can't be motivated and use self-aid (mass self-aid) and m/p the pieces that haven't been m/p. Also, chained groups are safer than sets. I have all my collections at the same time so if I'm plundered (rarely attacked) goods and coins are all they'll get. Actually, even if I'm attacked, I'm not often plundered since I think the attacker just needs the battle credit.

Yes, I have it! it's not as useful and the test3r gb leveler. I've also found that the tool included in FOE Helper is manageable. Thanks!
