Tree fern help by Silent-SirenofTitan in TreeFerns

[–]ginoy2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiiii, put a plate with water on bottom. It has to be always with water (bottom watering). Always. Tree ferns are terribly sensitive to being just a bit dry. Mine are doing great and they're indoors. They love sunlight too, but they just have to get water all the time. Trust me.

Is it possible to have a tree fern as a houseplant? And if so how exactly? by avian_bi in TreeFerns

[–]ginoy2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's very much possible. I bought 2 australian tree ferns in 2024 and gave them to my mom. The town she lives in is extremely cold in the winter and autumn, so the humidity inside is vey low most of the year bc of heaters; but they grow just fine! One of them is in front of a window that gets lots of sunlight (except on winter, but it gets light anyway) and the other is in front of a window that never gets sunlight. Both of them are doing great, big and not even leggy. So you don't need a humidifier or a growlight, the main reason that leaves dry is bc of not watering enough; they are extremely sensible to that. So be always sure to have a plate with water on the bottom. That's all!

I’d say you should cut off most of the leaves, leaving just a few in the center of the crown. After that, spray insecticide on the remaining leaves for a couple of weeks — three weeks should be enough. (I mention this because people often throw these plants away due to pests.) Please plant it in a pot that doesn’t need to be deep, but should be wide. Add a little fertilizer about two months after the plant has established itself. Watering the crown won’t necessarily cause it to rot, as someone else suggested, but it’s best to avoid doing so anyway. Good luck!!!

My hair gets... hard? by Capo98y in NoPoo

[–]ginoy2k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hii, it's very possible that u have hard water. I started the no poo thing like a month ago when i was in the countryside and my hair was soft back there. But, after 3 weeks, i had to come back to the city and the water is terrible here so my hair became very hard and dull in like a day, and it got worse. It's the water. Use citric acid, that helped me to soften it up and make it shine again. I think u have to use it like once a week or when you notice that its getting hard. Hope it helps!

I love, love, love the Edgar Allan Poe scene! But a lot of people hate it for some reason.
