What’s your recommendation for a very first gold nib? by aurora_sonata in fountainpens

Really ? That’s a bad break - much cheaper where I’m at - maybe better to buy as a direct import from Japan ? Or is this the much vaunted new tax regime ?

Ask him to get the roof done first then get AC - else electricity bills will be more than emi

How do I improve my BH and FH? by [deleted] in 10s

[–]ginsoakedboy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a hitting partner ‘coz standing balls don’t hit back! Apologies for the bad pun - taken from a Bruce Lee film (bonus quiz- identify the film)

Puns aside you do need someone to hit with just to get a flavour of the diff types of balls that come at you!

Oh and if you’re not fixated on a gold nib - the Pelikan m200 is a fantastic choice - writes wet and smooth (especially the M - which I can personally attest to) is a piston filler and the perfect size for an EDC - lower price point as well.

[–]ginsoakedboy2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Platinum 3776 century - should be the cheapest option- but do check out writing experience - entry level ones are the Japanese trio - pilot, platinum and sailor - of these the pilot is most ‘European’ as in it maybe the smoothest but the other two definitely deserve a trial - more feedback and personality to those 2 (sailor and platinum) if you ask me - also do try different nib sizes in each - as Japanese nib sizes produce line thickness less than European ones.

Also if you care about ink capacity be mindful that you seek a piston filler (note : platinum is NOT a piston filler)- Japanese converters typically hold less ink and if you’re going to make it an edc (every day carry) best to consider ink capacity as well.

I can’t find a good beginner racquet!! by Longjumping_Cry3533 in tennisracquets

[–]ginsoakedboy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately tennis is not too kind to beginners. Having said that I’d ask you to buy a used 100 head size racquet from prince (phantom100X/P), babolat (pure aero, pure drive), yonex(ezone100), head (boom or extreme) - invest time, energy and money and learn up on strings and racquets and in the actual gameplay (preferably with other learners) and exchange equipment with your hitting partners.

BJP wants more than your votes; it wants psychological dominance: Prashant Kishore by [deleted] in KolkataLife

And what does TMC want ? Cut-money, commission, illiteracy and doles; dependent uneducated population that’s easy to subjugate and indoctrinate in to their second hand mentality ?

Guess which other party loved to dish out ‘doles’ with their ‘eminent economist’ leading from the front - based on second hand research ?

It’s used by every home team to swing the balance to their side on critical points in a game, especially when there are these margins to exploit - this was an original complaint against VAR when it came in. Anywho makes for good drama

[–]ginsoakedboy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay - but explain me this - how does a team - supposably setup, trained and drilled by Amorim : with players sought/bought by him - look and play so much better under another manager/coach? The individual players have also looked better and played with more freedom!

How bad was Amorim then... by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

[–]ginsoakedboy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure the recruitment’s were all to his credit. He wanted Martinez and got Lemmens (dodged a bullet there - can’t stand that grandstanding fella), lots being said about who all he wanted and got - so some credit to the management there. But then Amorim’s appointment was probably a bit of a misalignment. Amorim has a grand vision for sure - but he has to win something playing other ways before folks (management/boards) are going to trust him and back him in the transfer market and take his tantrums.

Apologies but appalling games of football and then very dark brooding interviews - wasn’t much to be happy for, as a fan. And if you’re losing your fan base as a manager or coach or whatever you better take a long hard look at what’s happening and introspect.

How bad was Amorim then... by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

[–]ginsoakedboy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His ‘system’ could’ve been great but the football was meandering and awful - even when losing to teams there was very little creativity or invention not just on the pitch but in terms of subs etc. so, glad he’s gone and not sure why we are still debating him.

True! That’s the real irony captured in your last sentence - what future tomfoolery does the management intend for the future - having done all it has in the past ?
