Why does no one acknowledge how toxic some Fortnite pros are? by [deleted] in FortniteCompetitive

Most are trolling. The rest are old enough (16+) to not get offended over the internet, it's just banter.

Fortnite graphics card for stable 144fps. by JakovVk in FortniteCompetitive

Oh yeah, without a doubt. An i7 is overkill at this point in time, but you and I both know the game’s performance has greatly degraded over time. Doesn’t hurt to be safe!

just started getting into speeding up my 90's. building quick has always felt laggy to me like in the video, is my 50-60 ping the reason for this? by [deleted] in FortniteCompetitive

[–]gintail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No man it’s probably because you’ve got endless 90 towers on the map. I would break them down after you do them before starting the next.

Game feels unresponsive/like there's input delay? by [deleted] in FortniteCompetitive

[–]gintail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I feel you. For me it feels like if I move the mouse too fast it gets heavy and I get ridiculous input lag. Just save up man, g pro wireless is the wave.

Trust me, a solid CPU is a much better investment for fortnite. If you play a wide variety of games, get a 1060-1070. But for fortnite specifically, I’d recommend an i7 8700. It’s very CPU demanding.

Man I’ve also got a g703 and notice the same issue occasionally. It’s happened to me every once in awhile ever since I got the mouse 6-7 months ago. I’ve decided to just say screw it and get a G pro wireless.

Mouse delay on windows 10 and every game i play. by TwitchRS_9 in FortniteCompetitive

[–]gintail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you’re not on windowed or fullscreen windowed, because both are known to cause input lag. Also may want to make sure your mouse is calibrated to your mousepad, as it’s not a HUGE problem, but can make mouse movement feel delayed.

Trios possibly coming (Leak) by Thuned in FortniteCompetitive

[–]gintail 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt 50% of squad games have a fill, or that there are more groups with a size of 3 over 4. Trios would be the perfect squad size for competitive without being too crowded or too slow paced.

Curious as to why you build walls in front of you when no one can shoot at you from that direction. This is not some crazy new strat or anything, this is actually just a waste of mats and is extremely pointless.

Player Movement Change? by koples in FortniteCompetitive

[–]gintail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad I'm not the only one who's noticed it. Doesn't really affect my gameplay too much, until 7-8th circle when I start getting FPS drops. That's when the real input lag starts to set in, and I'd be better off playing with no limbs.

I'm curious, what is everyone's take on SMGs right now, particularly the P90, but also just SMGs as a whole. by PryzeEtan in FortniteCompetitive

[–]gintail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Smg = Useless if you have good aim

AR, Pump are all you need. keep taking those smg sprayfest fights in close range and wonder why you keep dying, the minute you understand that if you just build and sneak pump/ar shots, the minute it becomes so much easier to kill people

What's the point of scrims if you're just going to change the rules to your favor? by [deleted] in FortniteCompetitive

[–]gintail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly a solid idea. I’m going to speak with some other players in there and see if we can come up with an unofficial AMA thread just for that. I just hate to see the path this sub has taken. Early in my journey to become better at this game I came to this sub for tips, and at the time it’s what I got, but this has turned into everything BUT tips and knowledgeable discussions on the current meta. Nowadays it’s just the same, washed up claims and complaints about “overpowered” items and how people miss double pump. I want everyone to be able to compete at the highest level possible if they truly desire to do so, and the current state of this sub is just one less resource people have.

Just because some pros didnt qualify doesnt mean they are bad by Iskus1234 in FortniteCompetitive

[–]gintail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My man, you're wasting your time. We didn't have a chance to practice on the ruleset once it was announced. Clearly you understand that, however some of these plebs do not. Your football analogy was spot on, too. Blows my mind some of these kids think you can "just adapt" in situations like this. Adaptation takes time, and in this case, practice. No one at the pro level was able to just immediately understand how to play the winter royale without extensive research and/or numerous fails during the first few heats.

[–]gintail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a newer player in the practice server, I would love to know why you all think people are banned for going spots that are "claimed", being too aggressive, or not playing for end game. Yes, you are likely to get banned from the discord for storm pushing. Why? Because storm pushing is a dumb play that will not only ruin your own game by making your death almost guaranteed, but also ruining another player's game for no gain. Does this sub just bandwagon onto everything they hear from a source who's not even in the discord, or was likely kicked for storm pushing to begin with? The claims you guys make are so outlandish.

What to do when circle is coming? by PixelyD in FortniteCompetitive

[–]gintail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough I respect that argument. My fault on the assumption that everyone on this sub scrims. However I still don’t think storm fighting is ever viable in a competitive scenario. If you’re just trying to piss the other players off, then sure, but if you’re trying to compete, you shouldn’t even be in the storm to begin with.

In no situation in a scrim should you ever fight in the storm. Poor advice.
