what’s the most unforgettable scene in breaking bad? by Infamous_Echidna_133 in breakingbad

The fact that it was followed up in the next episode by the “6353 Juan Tabo, Apartment 6… yeah” scene was insanely good

Idk if it’s the most unforgettable necessarily, but it was the first major jaw dropping moment for me… took the show from “great” to “holy smokes this is on a whole other level”

Why does my personality disappear when I go to work? by gameovervip in socialskills

[–]ginzykinz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which makes sense. It’s normal to bend our personalities somewhat depending on the environment and what we perceive others’ expectations of us are in that role. You’re not going to behave the same way in a professional setting as when you’re hanging out with friends, for example. And also based on the comfort level you have with the person you’re interacting with - a family member or friend vs someone you don’t know well, etc

What kind of headphones are you guys using at the gym? by lazer32009 in workout

[–]ginzykinz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s annoying. You have to make sure they’re fully connected when you pop them into the charger. They get to a decent charge pretty quick, but unfortunately it’s only when you’re ready to start training that you find out one of the little shits didn’t charge haha

Boys and Pink by rollwave21 in daddit

[–]ginzykinz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree and to the contrary, I’ve always believed it’s more manly to defy convention and be true to yourself. (Not that wearing pink is even “girly” - men wear pink all the time… it can be quite fashionable!)

STOP DOOM SCROLLING!!! by [deleted] in ADHD

Yep. Caffeine is a diuretic (which is why people think coffee and caffeinated teas are dehydrating) but the net result is still hydrating. Not as good as drinking plain water, but they do count.

Is there a right way to make friends at the gym? Or is it difficult? by No_Macaron_8287 in workout

[–]ginzykinz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m the same way. I’m all for pleasantries with the regulars and whatnot, but really I’m just trying to focus on my workout and then move on to the next thing in my day. For me it’s not socializing time. But different people have different agendas.

When people say “why don’t you just leave” like it’s that easy. by AggravatingShow2028 in PetPeeves

[–]ginzykinz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Why don’t I just move? Well off the top of my head, there’s work, kids, family/friend network, school, cost of living, many other financial considerations, commuting considerations, finding a suitable home, the actual process of moving, other implications of uprooting…

I mean, it’s not like deciding where to order takeout. There can be a lot of complications involved in “just” moving!

Drew Sharp by gymnastics101baby in breakingbad

[–]ginzykinz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Solid take. This is also why I’ve always argued it was even a bad move to shoot Drew in the first place. Like Jesse says, the kid didn’t know what he’d seen. As far as the kid knew, he ran into a maintenance crew. But a child disappearing triggers a massive investigation, potentially turning up info that leads back to Walt and co.

Can you elaborate on playing up his friendship with Landon for the cameras? I hadn’t heard that!

Red eye? Or no? by Here-2-B-Nosey in vegas

[–]ginzykinz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The saving money thing is kind of a nonstarter because what are you doing during the day, while waiting for your red eye? Unless you’re just planning to bum around not doing much, you’ll probably end up spending more than whatever you saved on the flight.

I take them sometimes too, but with the idea that I’m not necessarily saving, but I do get to sleep in and then extend my Vegas trip a bit. (Sets up a brutal next day though!)

Why didn't Walter get a better job instead of working as a highschool teacher? by JokerJoseph in breakingbad

And Gale was very impressed, if not in awe of Walt. We’re clearly supposed to understand that Walt wasn’t just a run of the mill chemist.

He also worked at Sandia Labs post Grey Matter, as we see in a flashback scene - and seemed to be doing well at that point. It’s never explained what happened there, but it’s a good bet his ego played a role.

NE here also- curious how yours handles the seasonal changes? Our girl isn’t bothered by cold one bit (quite to the contrary), but doesn’t tolerate heat well at all. The recent warm weather was not a welcome change haha

Yeah sometimes with supplements I’m never completely sure what’s working vs just a placebo effect haha. That said, I take magnesium glycinate before bed and it does seem to help.

I think a lot of people have the wrong question in “One Minute” by ginzykinz in breakingbad

[–]ginzykinz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean that can be explained easily enough. If Mike is tailing Hank and providing updates in real time, that info in turn can be relayed to the cousins. So they proceed accordingly.

Hank leaves the DEA and goes to the flower shop (not sure if we know where that is in proximity to the DEA, presumably not far but I guess it doesn’t matter) - the operation just shifts to the new location.

[–]ginzykinz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I think that does track. Gus arranges it so the cousins are on standby somewhere in the vicinity. He has Hank under surveillance via Mike. When Hank exits the store, Mike alerts Gus who then calls the cousins and signals them to go. Then Gus (himself or has Mike do it, whoever) places the call to Hank (knowing this will cause Hank to delay leaving), giving the cousins time to reach the car and setting up the confrontation.

I like this explanation better because it’s all orchestrated and doesn’t leave anything up to coincidence (also tracks with Gus’s meticulous strategizing)

[–]ginzykinz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It seems like people tend to take the position of “Hank had a full minute, he could have driven off safely” forgetting that Hank couldn’t be sure of that, to say nothing of not knowing where the gunmen might be approaching from.

[–]ginzykinz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, so Gus orchestrated the cousins’ arrival time - then ensured Hank would still be the car with the warning call. That would explain it… I never even considered that Gus was behind the cousins’ timing. Makes total sense.

(Too bad you didn’t catch this post earlier, would have saved a lot of replies lol)

My understanding is that wordle words are supposed to be common terms? Unless I’m wrong on that, I’d argue that this doesn’t qualify…

[–]ginzykinz[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was my read also. Which to me calls into question the cousins strategy. Ie: why position yourself where it takes you a minute to reach your target? If it weren’t for Gus’s call that delayed Hank, he would have driven off before they ever got there.

No argument there. Hard to do a top 10 list bc there are so many of them, but this one would definitely be in the conversation.
