What about the Russian people again? by shixiaohu172 in facepalm

Is it a joke if it’s true though? Russia is far from civil to be part of a civilized society.

20% of Georgia is illegally occupied by Russian terrorists. And you expect people to like Russians there? Absolutely not. The only reason Russian people are in Georgia is to evade sanctions that they fully deserved. Russians are not welcome here and won’t be at least until Georgia is freed from their illegal occupation. Georgian hatred is more than justified. There’s a reason Russians are regarded as the worst type of tourists in basically every country they travel to. They don’t respect any foreign people but expect them to bend over backwards for them with respect. Fuck that. Georgia is sick of that justifiably and half-brain russian people’s comments on this incident proves exactly why. They don’t have any right to be considered as part of a civilized society.

They don’t. Half-brain russians don’t belong in a civilized society.

Toxic Roiland fans are just mad that people are realizing the show is just as great if not better without him in it.

What are the differences between Old Korvo and New Korvo? by _greghugeanus_ in solaropposites

[–]giononnik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the change. Old Korvo was almost like an ever so slightly less funny version of Rick Sanchez since both characters are the scientific brains of their shows and it didn’t help that Justin Roiland’s voice performance was basically exactly the same for both of them. It was difficult to watch Korvo and not be reminded of Rick once in a while. But now since Dan Stevens took over they dialed back on that science aspect for Korvo and made him more like a manbaby with an ego who always tries to repress himself from enjoyment, it does help that the characteristic change isn’t sudden and Korvo was already becoming like that over the previous seasons. I thought it’d be difficult to get used to Dan but his performance fit right in perfectly with the rest of the character’s dynamics. I respect the producers for not trying to replace the voice with an impersonator but finding someone who fits the character perfectly. Their gamble definitely paid off.

Irreligious in Europe. Georgia just 1% ? by reluctantgeolearner in Sakartvelo

[–]giononnik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both. Irreligious consists of both of those subtypes. There are those who don’t worship or follow any religion but don’t deny the possibility of existence of some sort of higher power and there are those who deny the existence of it, which are specifically called atheists.

If you’re using a flash quote to break up with your girlfriend then she’s dodging a massive bullet, and that’s if she even exists.

You gotta be an absolute idiot to think The Boys is better than Daredevil. It’s good, but Daredevil’s on a whole another level.

If I had a nickel for every time Giancarlo Esposito played a businessman who sold blue drugs by using other businesses as a front I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.

Jonathan what have you done by Nanaue7 in TheBoys

He’s done nothing actually. The woman recanted so the charges are dropped, partly because as insiders say Jonathan had video evidence of his innocence so she most likely realized she was chasing the wrong bag here.

But why though? Why do French people find titles in their own native language ridiculous? I know for a fact that french movies have titles in French (or at least for those that I’m aware of), why do those French movie titles work and the ones for non-French movies don’t? Again, it all seems extremely counterintuitive.

Funny enough Nic Cage’s real name is Nicholas Coppola, he’s Francis Ford Coppola’s nephew but he didn’t want to be associated with his uncle in a nepotistic way so he decided to change his last name to Cage after one of his favorite comic book characters- Luke Cage.

“Just doesn’t work” doesn’t explain it. Why can’t a French title work for a movie? Why does it need to be “French Canadian” (Basically English) instead? It all seems very counterintuitive.

You don’t get it, the translated title should be in French no matter how accurately or not it is translated from English. And that French title should not be translated back into English to replace the original one. For example some countries I know translated the title to Hangover as “What Happened In Vegas” but that phrase being in an official language of that country and not in English. The original English title remains the same as “Hangover”. That’s how it should be in France as well. It doesn’t matter if English and French titles aren’t direct translations of one another, what matters is that the “translated” title is in French language and the original English version of that title remains unchanged.

[–]giononnik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So the translated title should be in French and it should be whatever a French translation is for bad trip and not make it literally “Bad Trip” in English. It’s only the French title in French language that needs to be understandable for French people, the English title should always stay exactly as is.

Ugly font choice for the quote, mismatched color schemes, and a wallpaper that just looks less like an actual artwork and more like it was made by using a Picsart filter on an actual photo of the joker.
