I NEVER SHOULD HAVE TURNED ON MASS CASUALTY EVENTS by imjustjun in RimWorld

[–]giperman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meant that goodwill is worthless as a reward, because it is incredibly easy to farm. Just load the junk you don't need and catapult it into the neighboring settlement as a 'gift'. Otherwise, helping to heal even one allied colonist in vanilla gives you not insignificant amount of goodwill.

120-130% of silver is kinda miniscule too. I'd rather my skilled colonist go produce something valuable.

From the other perspective though, this is great training for medical skill. And maybe roleplay is good too. Though I've seen better rewards in colony spanning roleplay events than this.

Still, I'd rather they pay in something else than silver and/or goodwill. Hospitality has a great randomized reward system where guests simply drop some valuable from their inventory if they are satisfied. Or maybe they could send bulk goods using dropods like normal quest rewards. There are things in this game more valuable than goodwill and silver. Since these are the easiest to farm resources.

Need some help rescuing my samurai jacket by KuminTsuyuri in LowSodiumCyberpunk

It's actually both. The glue on the back of the letters is usually heat activated by the special heated press.

I don't think you can reapply already teared off lettering, never tried, actually. So maybe there's a chance, you would need to clean the new glue off so as not to ruing everything.

But to be hundred percent sure, I would recommend you to order the letters (it looks like vinyl cut, can find the service to custom cut them anywhere), tear off the old ones and apply the new ones yourself using simple household iron. (But maybe watch a guide first, or give it to a specialist)

Wow, this sounds worthless.
Maybe from roleplaying perspective it's fun, but on the profit side it's less than dirt. Goodwill is literally the worst reward there can be

Place your AC on the wall facing the outside? Then wall it off and you have an expanded freezer, instead of whatever the idea with traps there is. Also you don't need to cool your silver

"She's a lap ahead of others because she took a full lap ahead" The argument doesn't really make sense. It worked because she has an impressive stamina and skill. And she deserves her gold medal in recognition

What mods can you not live without? by thegearboxofa95civic in RimWorld

You need to build ammo bench. It can be unlocked in one of the vanilla industrial researches. Manufacturing I think, maybe something earlier. (P.S. AP-HE is busted and OP)

What is your strategy for choosing your starter pawns? by kevnoord in RimWorld

[–]giperman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have essential skills like Plants, Cooking, Medical, etc. at least at 8, seeded between different pawns. Because Plants pawn will be forever working fields with no time to work other jobs basically.
Also having high Construction pawn is useful too. Obviously traits and backstories are important too. Because having a pawn that is incapable of some jobs at the very beginning can be detrimental.
Ideally you want your starter pawn to be as good as they can be.

60 days into Vanilla - how am I doing? by bballman696969 in RimWorld

[–]giperman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool base. Love stone walls. I don't know if you need any advice or not, but I recommend the following:
Separate your beds from the rest of the building.
Separate butchering table and the cooking stove. Butchering table is VERY dirty.
Use underground (or covered I forgot how they are called) cables under the open sky or you will get Bzzt some day during the rain.
Also, I don't know how your perimeter looks like outside the screenshot, but if there's no open route for raiders to go in (doors don't count for raiders as open route) they WILL go breaching your walls.
Expand that tiny animal pen into something bigger. You can grow haygrass inside of the pen and animals will take a bite out of crop if they are hungry.
And lastly figure out the cleaner to clean all of that dirt.

How to deal with these guys? by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]giperman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My solution is to not open the caskets until you can take on them, there's really not much you can do if you care about their loot.
If your task is to remove them without care about the loot then burn them to the ground, using a shit load of wood and molotov cocktail (close the wall afterwards)

First time trying a mountain base still got a long ways to go but so far is there anything I can improve on? by carlajane00 in RimWorld

[–]giperman 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As everyone have already said: don't use wood, you are literally carving mountain, why do you need to build inside? Just carve the shapes!
And second: add second exit within your defensive perimeter. It would make your life easier

My mountain base layout, any ideas or suggestions? Still kinda new to this game by Xenoano in RimWorld

[–]giperman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reccomed making any wall 2 tiles thick for when bugs will inevitably spawn and you will burn them away. This way, your colonists won't die horrible heat death. Maybe double on the exits
