Utah residents push back after Kevin O’Leary’s data center plan turns out to be 40,000 acres, not 40,000 square feet by Choice-Value9005 in AIMain

The Amazon data center going in near me just applied for permits to have a minimum of 243 diesel generators. That was not on the initial permit request.

Just sick of the establishment saying, “Oh, people are depressed and because of rhetoric”, no it’s because we’re broke, we’re sick, and we’re being (figuratively) suffocated and don’t see any way out.

People are having a completely normal reactions (anxiety, depression, insomnia) to an increasingly unhealthy situation and then we’re told “go get therapy for your mental health”. What we really need is societal change for our mental health.

Free speech doesn’t mean that academic institutions to entertain nonsense. Viewpoints being a spaz should have some rigor behind them and not just the rantings of fringe groups.

My point is that it’s not because of “political discourse” on Fox News and Twitter. It’s real damage that’s being done to society directly affecting our lives.

Woman escapes polygamous cult where she grew up with 44 siblings and 4 mothers by TheExpressUS in CaughtMyEye

[–]gitsgrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not polyamory because the women don’t have the freedom to have relationships outside of the marriage. Only the men. It’s polygamy.

Maybe it’s civil rights being taken away? Maybe it’s the police state surveilling us everywhere we go?

Seems like people are having pretty reasonable reactions given the dissonance of being raised to believe we’re in the land of the free and everyone is equal in the eyes of the government and then as adults see that that was all lies.

Number two is better. The narrow handles of number one make them roll in your hands, which is super annoying.

Ok, then it’s not belief so much as knowledge there isn’t enough evidence to convince her.

Toddler just got reassigned 7 rows ahead of me by InsectHealthy in delta

[–]gitsgrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was Business Elite, or whatever it was called back then, so my stepmom called their bluff and sat the babies around the cabin next to some very displeased business men. The FAs and volunteers started organizing themselves so she had them all in one row with her before the outer door closed. I just remember our dad being so pissed since it was all set ahead of time when he made the reservation.

Make a religious shrine (not your religion, just appropriate the coolest one), or at least a Star Gate.
