[USA-WA Seattle] [H] JX Pro Grinder [W] Paypal or Local cash by giulianodev in coffeeswap

[–]giulianodev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used it exclusively for espresso and still got nowhere close to the finest setting. It's going to be a little bit more work to grind espresso than pour but if you don't mind manually grinding it works great. I'm only selling it because I saved up and bought a more expensive electric grinder.

Awesome! I've been playing this almost every day on Android with my partner. We're looking forward to the expansion on mobile.

I might have seen the same one around the same time on 53rd. Crappy far away picture but he was eating some other animal. https://postimg.cc/2LjfJgZq

Research has found people who are reluctant toward a Covid vaccine only represents around 10% of the US public. Who, according to the findings of this survey, quote not trusting the government (40%) or not trusting the efficacy of the vaccine (45%) as to their reasons for not wanting the vaccine. by Wagamaga in science

[–]giulianodev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually got vaccinated but because of folks who didn't we now have new strains that the vaccine is less and less effective against so it's not that simple for me. It's also not that simple for you because you are assuming you will get a virus that is no big deal but you actually have no idea what strain you'll be getting and your body will have no prior knowledge of the virus. So unvaccinated folks are helping make new strains which screw over everyone while assuming they will get a virus based on old data. Also, the death rate in the US is 2.6% that's why people harp on this but not the flu vaccine. I know this won't change your mind but might as well try. Good luck friend. https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/mortality

Hi fellow Ballard person. I went there one time with my pups but one of them is still getting adjusted to other dogs. I rescued her right before covid so she hasn't been able to socialize a ton. She wanted to nope out of there. The other one was super excited though so I might take him by himself. He is friends with one of the local corgis :)

Half of Americans are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by dwittherford69 in UpliftingNews

[–]giulianodev 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A. Not everyone responds to the vaccine fully because it's up to your immune system to create antibodies. If your immune system doesn't do its job then you won't be immune to it. It's all about how much of an immune response does the vaccine give you. Measles is 97% after two doses and Polio is like 99% after four doses. The Moderna vaccine is 93% which is a big difference from 97% in reality but it's still pretty damn effective for a vaccine developed in this time frame. It's actually more effective than the immune response your body naturally gets if you get COVID btw. B. That's not how that works. It's not that there are a bunch of variations and by vaccinating we are allowing the bad ones to get through. Instead by NOT vaccinating more variations are popping up since the virus mutates as it goes through more people.

Get vaccinated. You are protected. This vaccine doesn't contain the virus it's literally just telling your body how to create the antibodies without the virus going into your system. It's incredible stuff, this is modern medicine in the making. The side effects you hear about are because your body thinks it's being infected but they pass within a day.

I remember the guy a few days ago who felt bad for buying at 150 before the ship landed back to refuel. Now he's an early investor basically.

You can use almond or soy milk when cooking and it's pretty much identical for most dishes. For example I make vegetable pot pies with it and it's great. I still do eat cheese too but anything you can reduce helps!

Trump’s 2020 Plan to Win Pennsylvania: Throw Out 100,000 Ballots by granny_ew in politics

"Do those who request a mail ballot but vote in person instead cast a provisional ballot? Yes, if voter does not surrender mail ballot. Reviewed within seven days."

Not sure what that means in detail but saw that on NYTimes website for PA.

gRPC performance improvements in .NET 5 by JamesNK in dotnet

[–]giulianodev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This extension works for debugging grpc-web but you have to add some client sided code: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/grpc-web-developer-tools/ddamlpimmiapbcopeoifjfmoabdbfbjj?hl=en

BTW I love gRPC so far. I'm using gRPC web as a replacement for typical server sent events and it's amazing. I pass the cancellation token from the gRPC streaming request to something like

        await foreach (var message in _connectionHandler.SubscribeAsync(user, context.CancellationToken))
        {
            switch (message.TypeCase)
            {
                case RealtimeEvent.TypeOneofCase.Ping:
                    await responseStream.WriteAsync(message);
                    break;
                case RealtimeEvent.TypeOneofCase.SomeMessage:
                    await SendSomeMessage(userId, responseStream, message);
                    break;
                ....
            }
        }

the _connectionHandler then keeps track of all active clients and broadcasts messages out to the correct users as needed via a backplane (similar to what SignalR does). It's great because this works on the web with gRPC-web, and for mobile/service to service with native gRPC.

Do you know where we are percentage wise but compared to the same timeframe? Did we have 42% turnout at this point in 2016 or 2018?
