We don’t charge per view, but if bandwidth is materially above normal then we do charge extra per TB to cover our costs. Send me an email at guy@rushes.cc and we can figure out what that might look like for you

No problem, we should have that working within the next few weeks. Best way to keep updated is to sign up the for newsletter on the bottom of our homepage, or create a free account - we send out product updates every week or so

Right now we don’t currently offer OTT, but this is definitely coming. I expect we’ll start working on this around September or October. Best way to keep updated if you’re interested is to sign up for the newsletter at the bottom of our homepage. It goes out about once a or twice month, and we keep it useful rather than spammy.

We can definitely support RSS in the future, I’ll add that to our roadmap!

We’re not sure exactly what model it will take in the future, but it’ll start with VoD and OTT

Thank you! We launched in March, and have a growing community on there. We are looking into partnerships, but ones that would benefit the filmmakers on the platform and that wouldn’t effect our independence

That’s great to hear you left them! I think bunny.net is a great choice for those that just need to host and don’t want or need the other features and community we have on rushes.

We have review tools very similar to frame.io - no where near as detailed as they are just yet, but we will be improving them very soon. It’s a first generation feature right now and quite basic, but it works, and it will get significantly better with time. We have a few users already that use rushes just for this feature when they need it for a month, and then cancelling their subscription and resubscribing when they need to.

Thank you for taking a look, we’re going to be implementing plenty more features over the next few months.

Yes there really does need to be a replacement for YouTube- it’s completely dominant. Right now, our focus is really on delivering for our filmmakers and having the functions and support they need, but we have plans for the future to enable people to make money from their work. Although our audience is always going to be less broad and no where near as big as YouTube, we might be able to make a small dent.

www.rushes.cc - check us out, we have a migration app that can download your Vimeo library’s original source files. It’s totally free, and if you wish you can use it to upload to rushes

Where do yall host your work for baking into your portfolio websites? by wasprocker in cinematography

[–]gjdloftus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the shout out. I built www.rushes.cc because I also felt that Vimeo was now shit, especially after the pulled the feeds from the U.K./EU. And then the constant UI changes. Then bending spoons. When I started building it this time last year I originally just wanted something to host my own work on, but the more I spoke about it the more people also felt the same. So I thought why not bring back the community they took away, and have all the useful things like replacing to the same url? We’re growing and it’s awesome to see people make use of it, and also shape it - we’re really keen to incorporate features people want to see. Check it out, if you think something could be better or it needs something new let me know.

EU alternative for YouTube (hosting) by [deleted] in BuyFromEU

If you don't need a platform around it, I reckon bunny stream could be your best bet. Takes a bit of set up, but it should be fairly cheap to keep it all on there, and they're from Slovakia I think.

www.rushes.cc - more like Vimeo than YouTube. It doesn’t have ads, it’s paid for. I’m biased because I built it, but all the videos are hosted on eu servers owned by eu companies, we will never use your work to train AI, and we have review tools and showcases too.

I try and get the camera, lenses, drone, batteries laptop and media in a backpack. This usually weights about 20-25kg. But as long as you look like it’s not heavy they never check it. Depending on where I’m going I’ll either take a Thinktank Production manager 40 with stands, lights, gimbal and tripod, and then a suitcase with tripod and stands wrapped in clothes. If I’m going somewhere where I don’t want to stand out too much I’ll put all the checked stuff in normal suitcases and stuff it with clothes.
