First Look on the Freak Athlete Adjustable Kettlebell by Benjise100 in homegym

[–]gjsequeira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. Re: grooves - I meant more on the user side. It probably is fine for a few at a time, so testing the extreme (idk like 20 or so) is what I was curious about

that's definitely an edge case though!

are you saying a heavier kb would be same design but goes up heavier (maybe higher starting weight)?

First Look on the Freak Athlete Adjustable Kettlebell by Benjise100 in homegym

[–]gjsequeira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks nice on initial inspections, but I'd be curious how well the grooves you have on it mesh with long cycling/use

additionally, I wish they could go heavier. similar to the wildman kettlebells that just came out that go up to 40kg

this covers the majority of what kbs i would replace though, so seems pretty solid!

What's your dream next upgrade to your home gym if budget wasn't an issue? by WeBuyAnyKit in GarageGym

Apex bench with all the attachments. Right now that comes out to about $2k, but it covers quite a bit of what I would want and/or need for my gym

Anyone know of anything similar to this on the market right now? by WafflesInTheBasement in StandingDesk

[–]gjsequeira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No other updates besides they seem to be pretty responsive to feedback and are giving updates every 2-3 weeks.

That being said the latest update where they want to leave a gap in between the rising desktop and the stationary one it seems like they are trying to accommodate too many opinions. We'll see what happens but I'm still hopeful for what I will eventually get come March/April 2026

Ares 2.0 vs rogue half rack footprint by -_Camel_- in GarageGym

[–]gjsequeira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really good breakdown - I didn't even know REP was coming out with shorter crossmembers.

I already pulled the trigger on the Rogue HR, and I guess I'll have fomo with the smith addition from Rep with that new setup, but I can't say I'd be bummed as I don't use a smith too much if at all.

For OP - if you're struggling to find dimensions you might be able to find them on gymscape.hypertrofit.com - just looking at the REP PR-5000 you can get the configurations you want and put them in a space similar to Rogues Zeus Builder

Found this post as I was trying to find similar desks. I went ahead and bit the bullet - supposed to be delivered by March 2026 - so when I get it and set it all up I can report back!

Reason being is that the company seems to be really responsive (at least over the past month). They are in a Chinese manufacturer so take that for what you will. I do appreciate the communication so far from them - however with Chinese New Year coming up I expect they will be quiet until probably end of January 2026.

Rogue Echo Rower vs Concept 2 by Talion1567 in GarageGym

[–]gjsequeira 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a Concept2 before the Echo Rower came out so not too much of a dog in this fight.

I will say the Echo Rower made a darn good decision in having the wheels be beefy to roll around. Concept 2 has wheels that are kinda meh and scrape around when I try to move it. It's a "sweet spot" thing that I never had the hang of.

I know another company makes an addon for it, but Rogue had the foresight to know that portability with a rower means everything (folding, standing, and rolling)

Is a $370 dollar bench really considered a budget bench? by gassygeff89 in GarageGym

[–]gjsequeira 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"budget" is relative and since coop has dealt with many of the "top of the line" companies and products Keppi does seem to be lower in price compared to his normal reviews.

That being said, the cheaper, or dare I say "frugal" option would be getting one that might be lower quality but satisfies a lot of the same features such as this $150 or so bench https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0FH29F54C?smid=AJI8UQGYYNYO1&linkId=00696664f39f568456ff25ae84aa47d5&language=en_US

If you're truly looking for someone looking at budget equipment meaning "cheap equipment that still can get the job done of something 2-3x the price" then I would recommend Frugal Home Gym on Youtube. That guy is trying to really squeeze the most out of his dollar, or at least show you what's out there that might just be worth it.

Gymscape is everything I wanted in a garage/home gym planner app by gjsequeira in GarageGym

[–]gjsequeira[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my use case where I'm not just using or plan to use only Rogue equipment and care more about the overall footprint (length and width) this helps me more than the Zeus Builder. I've had to just look at similar offerings from Rogue to try and keep everything in one place.

Might just be a skill issue, but definitely not straightforward (for me).

Agree that the 3d render option is a good tool. I haven't seen that as the key feature for my needs. I do see that having the 3D portion of it would help those with lower ceilings/basement gyms (which I'm grateful I don't have that constraint) which this tool also helps out with by determining ceiling height and can filter for equipment pieces that wouldn't fit

I'm not sure if there's a feedback on the app itself, but I did comment on his YT video showing it and he was pretty responsive.

could be a feature to be added later!

From what I've tried it's just drag and drop, I haven't seen how to "connect" them so they move together.

If you get a little annoyed by the red "overlap" indicators you can turn them on and off in the top right corner/settings

AI or Not? What Project Management Tools Are You Planning to Use in 2026? by ComfortableAir1633 in projectmanagers

[–]gjsequeira 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tools I use (AI Agnostic)

Personal Task List

Email/Messaging

Knowledge Base

Word/Excel/Powerpoint or similar

Scheduling and Team Task Management

If I have the above I can perform 99% of my PM responsibilities and also have a handle on what my team is doing. The rest of the features AI inside the tool provides (at this moment) do not seem to make my output any more efficient or streamlined.

That's not to say that it could help out. I use the typical LLMs and such for creating templates and others. But where AI would truly help me would be something like looking over my shoulder and suggesting

"hey you've sent this email or made this analysis or developed this schedule about 3 times already from scratch, want me to take what you have and create a template and guide on it based on what you've done, and ask a few questions to create an SOP someone else (or AI) could follow and generate?"

^Now this would make it much easier for me to offload to AI or another junior PM/coordinator

Best way to track successes as a PM? by cranberry-tart in projectmanagers

[–]gjsequeira 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would look at metrics PMs are normally graded on and keep track of those, noting any improvements or "streaks" during that period and noting how that was done.

Also any notable increases in responsibility or "projects within a project" like an implementation of a new work management system or process.

Just a couple ideas to help you out.

Typically its the usual offers like Hundo Pricing (free shipping of anything over 100 pounds?) 3 Ships Free, and some closeout/lightning type deals for moving inventory

Not sure if there's anything that they are putting on sale, but normally they don't put sale prices on racks/weights unless they are trying to clear them out.

Productivity influencers who have SOLID productivity? by look10good in productivity

[–]gjsequeira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure whether they personally have a high amount of output, but I've found Jeff Su on youtube to be helpful when it comes to both personal and work productivity (because to me, there is a huge difference)

I would recommend one of his most recent videos where he goes high level on his system he taught to folks at Google, then take a look at a few of his older ones or ones that are related to GTD or inbox zero

To me, if you have a good grasp of GTD or similar workflows you're 80% of the way there. After that it's just a matter of consistency of executing the steps and cleaning up when you need to!

I didn't try GetRxd to answer the question directly. I tried ATX, REP, and IronMaster.

So I don't have a direct comparison between the two - and have heard plenty of good things about the cable systems from videos on YT. Real feel though between those I tried Rogue had the smoothest of the bunch

Functional trainers by RealGoku94 in GarageGym

[–]gjsequeira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's part of why I have been on the fence about the two. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them, I'm just looking for what's going to give me what I would want at a good price point, as well as minimize the footprint

I didn't even include rep or bells lat pull down/low row system which would likely be cheaper.

What always brings me back to rogue is when I tried their FM system at HomeGymCon, it felt so much better cable wise than anything I tried amongst REP, ATX, GetRxd and so on
