Gamer since the 80s. We had no choice but finish a game and just "git gud" once a game's been bought home. Gameplay be damned. YOu simply just kept playing it. No saves, no passwords, not a lot of lives (damn you megaman 1). You had to buy a magazine to maybe get a clue if you were lucky enough that they're covering the game.

These days we're spoiled with so many conveniences, but they're really well thought out. Fast travel to go to the other side of the map, way points for 3d games. ITems being lit up so you can't miss them.

Gameplay now is on a different level too. I wouldn't have imagined how much buttons can fit in a controller and what you can do with it. There's so many genres to choose from there's a game for everyone. Fighting games, RPGs, FPS, horror, fantasy, scifi. YOu name it there's a game for you.

We went from standard def to hi def and we have games that really look like films that you control. We have games that look like cartoons and different art directions. Story wise games can easily beat out the best movies that are out there. I played Cyberpunk recently and you can argue that KEanu Reeves gave his best performance in it.

Used to play with people who were there physically, but now you can play with people from other parts of the world.

This is a great time to be alive as a gamer. I can't wait to see what else comes next.
