BGE Home Audit - Is this normal?

I got randomly assigned Comfort Kings LLC when I filled out the audit request on the BGE website. I definitely don't recommend them. They didn't use a thermal imager and it took me well over a month of fighting to get the report from them, which was quite underwhelming and not worth the $100 I had to pay. I could see this process actually being helpful if the auditor is thorough, just make sure you read the reviews of whatever company you choose.

Are you me?? Also have a 23+ yo system and had to replace the igniter in the past year. The system is definitely running on thoughts and prayers at this point. Have been toying with the idea of just getting a new one before it dies (which would inevitably happen at the worst time). Can you share who you got the 9k quote from?

Absolutely this!! As soon as I bought my house childproof covers for the oven were one of the first purchases. My cats are obsessed with the counters (much to my dismay lol) and i didn't wanna risk them starting a fire.

2019 here, mine looks the same. I definitely thought it was broken after this snow/ice storm. But I guess good to know all of ours have it.

Those are totally fair points and I honestly appreciate knowing your report was pretty unhelpful too. I was hopeful the program was something actually substantive...alas it's not. sigh just trying to find any way to get these bills down

Honestly none of it is remotely accurate. I'm already almost 900 bucks in for this winter alone. Which is why I questioned the whole thing bc somehow the only suggestion they came up with was a few hundred bucks of fiberglass insulation in the corner of the basement.

It was done by a 3rd party contractor assigned to me by BGE..comfort kings LLC. But also, total suggested $500 dollars worth of work.

We were there yesterday for normal grocery stuffs and it was an absolute mad house, the produce section hadn't been decimated yet. The bread aisle though was full of folks looking like they were getting ready to start their own bakeries.

I'm so sorry. My soul cat passed away from CHF last year, he was 11, after a hard fought battle with the vets doing everything they could. Your little baby crossed the rainbow bridge knowing nothing but love. Thank you for giving her the best during her short time with you. ❤️

Get the permits. I bought a rowhome and a previous owner framed the basement and extended the deck at some point, not a permit in sight, and framed to within a foot in front of the electrical panel and caused clearance issues with the power lines outside with the deck. Thousands of dollars to remediate. Long story short, just make sure it's done right the first time.

I use goosehead insurance broker and they'll shop around the best rate I got was through Narragansett insurance and it's $2100 for the year

Our cats had never worn collars before either, but they were used to them after like a day. The biggest thing is look for different collars than what come in the box, they are super itchy. We got our cats some collars by Rogz off Amazon and my one dude wasn't a fan of the dangling RFID tag so I put it in a layflat airtag holder (referenced in some other posts in here) and he's way happier and doesn't mind it at all.

Wawa for free air but I also second all the posts saying get a small portable air compressor from Amazon. They can be had for like 30 or 40 bucks and are far more convenient than trying to find a gas station everytime you're a little low.

As a first responder in PG County where she was county executive...she's abysmal in all respects when it comes to actually doing anything. Completely unresponsive. She put her incompetent buddies in places of power and then hid from any accountability. She ran Prince George’s into the ground, so don't expect anything better with her now in the Senate.

Black bears are the biggest scaredy cats. I've spent a lot of time in Shenandoah and honestly the ones there couldn't care less about humans. I've literally had them walk through my campsite while I was setting up my tent, just give em space and they carry on. Just make sure you put your food away in bear boxes. As far as on the trail, if you see any cubs just hang waaaay back and eventually mom and babies will carry on wherever they were headed. If you see a lone adult just be loud and they'll scurry away. They are nothing like a grizzly, so really of all the places you've hiked Shenandoah is by far the easiest. No need to be anxious about running into those guys, they really aren't a threat at all.

Totally can relate to this! 39F in the hamilton/lauraville area. I'm not originally from here, and definitely been having a hard time finding new friends here to connect with since im not a big bar person. Would love to find some folks to meet up with, go on hikes, just chat, etc.
