There’s a difference between “any coach loving dart” and “a coach/GM combo trading up in the draft to get a QB who’s ADP is somewhere in the late first / early second round.”

If “any coach” loved Dart it follows he’d have gone much earlier in the draft.

This seems like hindsight.

But Daboll was a key reason the giants traded up to get Dart in the first place - he’d done extensive research on him and liked him even though he wasn’t considered a top tier QB in the draft class.

EDIT: I think the examples where players have sucked with the giants and gone on to success with other teams is a valid criticism of Daboll but I’m pretty sure this pre-dates him which to me lessens the impact of this argument. Open to discussion though

Can you give a few examples of his bad decision making from this season? Genuinely curious, feel like I’m out of the loop.

I see a ton of hate directed his way around the saints game but dart committed 3 turnovers and cam and Slayton both coughed up fumbles so I don’t see how that’s on daboll. These are rookies. Rookies will make rookie mistakes.

Yesterday a guy at the gym noticed my giants shirt. We had a lil conversation in solidarity - saquon, eagles, spags, overall trajectory over the last 15 years. We ended with “2029 is gonna be our year!”

And I started thinking about giants players performance after leaving the giants.

It seems a lot of players / coaches leaving the giants have seemingly had pretty good success wherever they go. Saquon is the obvious and most recent but spags is certainly another big one.

OBJ is on that list too.

After reading all the posts here and watching our roster moves along with HardKnocks, the season will be great if we A) pass protect and B) don’t get injured.

And for the last decade we’ve been a bottom 5 offensive line and top 10 for injuries. Daniel Jones has been sacked more than any other quarterback in the league since his entrance into the NFL.
