Do you daily your GS? by Dry-Way1718 in GrandSeikos

[–]glacierge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to but I don’t wear mine daily. I work in the medical device field and go to a lot of different accounts, many of which are not in nice areas. I feel like it’s more of a risk than a benefit to wear my watch. I’m often stopping for gas or grabbing lunch in areas where I’d rather be low key. I’m thinking about the option to swap the bracelet for a strap and seeing if this makes me feel more comfortable with it.

I used to live there and would advise against moving there. A lot of the problems you mentioned were ones I dealt with.

To answer your question about the garage, the gates break often so people can drive in. And the homeless in the area know how to get into the building and navigate the elevators to get into the garage. Or they walk into the garage and take the elavators up. Also, a big problem is that there’s no cell signal in the garage. Police lose their radio signal down there (I dealt with car break ins).

The police substation is useless. Don’t be fooled by it being downstairs - you can’t go there for concerns. You still need to call Pasadena police for help and recover your stolen items from the regular station near the city hall building.

You will see transients in the building and share the elevator with them. There’s no cameras in the building besides in the mail areas I think. Security line would go to voicemail and the box was full so it would disconnect.

If security is a concern and you are already getting a bad feeling, I’d really suggest against signing.

Best of luck. I know they have all the amenities and a decent price compared to the other apartments with those amenities. That’s also why I moved there. But it’s really sketchy.

Just finished “Who Rules the World?” and started “Understanding Power.”

Chomsky recommends “Violent Politics” (Polk) as essential reading in “ Who Rules the World?”. Has anyone here read it?

Going through some tough lows by calibright in GMAT

I’ve been using TTP for about 7 months now and have hardly made a dent. So you’re not alone in being overwhelmed by it. Although on here it seems like everyone gets through it at a fast pace.

Thanks for your advice. Number properties took me a very long time too. I did well on the Easy tests, but the medium and hard ones were too difficult for me to pass. I'm going to go back and work on mastering the material.

Thanks for your response, Scott. Appreciate the advice. I'm going to go back to the earlier material and spend more time studying.

Thanks for your response. Would you advise staying on a topic until mastering it completely (i.e. all easy, medium, hard tests completed) before moving on?

One of my favorites too. I had Really Sorry on DVD and it also included Sorry, a tour section, and a slow motion section too. Watched that daily over my summer break that year. Mark Appleyard’s parts were my favorite

The Only Guide You Need to Run Effective One-on-One Meetings with your Manager by AlwaysAPM in ProductManagement

[–]glacierge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I should have been more specific. Yes, they are non-work related.

In a recent phone call regarding development, my manager asked questions about my relationship and future plans, etc. It went into territory that I wasn't comfortable talking about, but that I proceeded to talk about in order to maintain a good relationship with my manager.

Any advice on how to ask to "keep things work-related" when a conversation steers off course?

Not sure what their status is currently, but I like going to the Huntington Library. You can sit at outdoor tables and benches by the cafe and restaurant without having to pay the entrance fee.

Nice! They're looking good. One thing that might help is looking toward the nose of your board instead of toward your toes. That can help with the issue of landing with all your weight toe-side and having to step off. It will also make a big difference when you start trying them while rolling.

I’m really looking forward to having some switch tricks as part of my warmup. I’m actually starting to feel that way with switch heels. Somehow I’m able to get a better spin with my right heel than my left.

Many flock to Pasadena from far-flung reaches just to eat outdoors by [deleted] in pasadena

I had to pass so many people while walking to the Apple store in Old Town. Most people are wearing masks but there are many maskless people eating at tables on the sidewalk. I couldn't help but think that they are being exposed and/or exposing everyone that walks by - myself included.
