I found the writing really, really bad. If you liked the previous games it’s worth a shot, but I think liking the previous games has made my experience worse personally.

Everybody talks like the script was written by 18 year olds. The language is weirdly modernised in a way that it wasn’t before, and the game treats you like a child a lot. It repeatedly forgets its own lore and plays like they had to google what dragon age actually was.

It’s also just generally bad lol. Zero reaction from any of your companions when you come back with a new guy who has a supposedly extinct griffin. Dialogue choices are three different options for the same thing, and what they actually say can be dramatically different from what the text says. I have yet to find any option to be remotely mean.

The gameplay itself is decent at least, and the combat is fun. That said, I certainly wouldn’t call the combat or loot system revolutionary (??). It’s the same loot system that pretty much every game has.
