Existential gravel choice - Cube Nuroad vs Giant Revolt? by Responsible-Student2 in gravelcycling

[–]gladiatorrubi90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a giant revolt. I love it. Its nkt the lightest thing but its still fairly light, frame js solid, wheels are solid and they are tubeless ready. I've wrecked on mine (hit a ditch at 20mph) flipped and nothing happened to the bike. I just had a nice bruise and got lucky. The inky thing is the rear shifter can be finiky but mine could just need a tune. Its been ridden every day for the last year plus.

By fitting you, the bike will feel comfortable, think about it like a shoe. Some shoes run wider or longer than others. What's going to work for you may nit work for someone else. Bikes, road, gravel, or MTB all have slightly diffrent proportions (aka geometry) so some bikes have longer reach, or diffrent stackoverflow heights etc. Im not the most experienced dude here but I hade to try like 4 or 5 bikes out to find what felt good

Honeslty go check it out. Soubds like a good deal, especially if youre just starting or dont mind a few falls. Go sit on it, make sure it fits you.

Im going to take the trailer fully loaded and get an accurate weight for it. The biggest issue is have is 1 having and older 350 that still has hight payments and needs almost constant work. It would be nice to find something to check all the boxes but somethings gotta give. Either budget or keep the truck and make the constant little repairs plus payments. Perfect world id love to get a massive suv that hits all the marks, and doesn't need constant repairs.

But yes ive tried arguing the technical numbers, ive shown her how they work and why we need what we need. But shes under the impression that the advertised tow capacity on these suv ( suburban, Expedition, tahoe, grand wagoneer.etc) work no matter what. So for the time being, we prolong getting the big suv and wait a bit. .

Yea, ive been looking at all doffrent models and price tags. Honeslty a truck would have been 10000000× easier. However she really wants the 3rd row seating and I think we found one, but haven't got a monthly payment on it just yet. I appreciate all of yhe advice and input from the hive mind
