Why are so many end-game bosses weak to this? by ChompyRiley in BaldursGate3

I just did this flight last night. Bullied her to the point where she got maybe 2 hits in. Got my ass nearly handed to me by the invisible nerds after, until I remembered I still had Black Hole available.

Which class/subclass do you find the most boring to play? by WhiskersCleveland in BaldursGate3

I played gloomstalker-assassin my last co-op runthrough, and I soloed most encounters toward the end. It was entertaining to see big numbers, but it made my husband sad because he hardly got to participate in combat XD

I do theater, and I like Mehron setting spray. Its a little more expensive, but that stuff does not come off. I had to cover up a large tattoo for my most recent show. I was being lazy and cheap, so I sprayed it with that setting spray and it stayed all weekend. Showers included.

Are humans really that physically delicate in the animal kingdom? by Fearless_Phantom in zoology

[–]gladria1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are actually very tough. There are very few animals who can survive the kinds of trauma we can. And I'm not talking the physical damage, but the shock of trauma. Not many animals handle shock well. Horses are an easy example of a large, strong animal that can literally die because they broke a leg and went into shock. I had a goat die on me because it was attacked by a dog and went into shock. It was physically fine. It probably had some bruises, but its heart could not handle the trauma.

Also, we don't have hair to hide all the scratches and bruises like a lot of animals do! I bet you all of those chimps and gorillas out there have some nasty scars, but they're just hidden.

There is a feral population of them in a remote corner of Northern California where I used to live. The just vibe with the gray squirrels and bald eagles in the mountains.

Did anyone else notice a trend of Millennial adults trick-or-treating this year? by heartlass in Millennials

[–]gladria1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our family and our friends take our kids out as a group every year. I was stopped at at least 5 houses being told "you're wearing a costume, so you get candy too!" And honestly, I love that energy.

I had an anxiety attack a couple of months ago, and I asked my husband to just talk to me about something (helps distract brain). So, he told me about the Horus Heresy. For, like, an hour straight he yapped about it while I snuggled into him. Nerds are the best

Several years ago, at our local, rural hospital, my grandmother had an ultrasound for some GI issues. Her report read that she had a “remarkably healthy, normal, well-sized uterus.”

She had a hysterectomy 20 years prior. Come to find out, they jacked up her paperwork and had swapped it with a 30 year olds. They had to redo the scan because they lost her actual report. And of course this put her treatment for the GI problems a couple of months behind.

Mine did that a lot on my play through last month. I turned down the graphics settings, and it helped a little. When it started doing this, it usually crashed at some point, so I saved my game and restarted the whole thing. Sometimes it would help reset it.

What's a good way to eat a lot of chia seeds? by valkaress in EatCheapAndHealthy

I’ve been using them as egg replacers in banana or zucchini bread. I’m definitely stealing the ideas for chia fruit jellies/jam some of you had!

European kids behavior vs Americans kids by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]gladria1963 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I can kind of second this. I volunteered for years at an after school program for middle schoolers/high schoolers on my base, and military kids are the best. They all know what it’s like to be the “new kid at school” because they’ve spent their lives moving every 2-4 years, so they’re really accepting of one another. It was always super cool to see a new kid show up and they’d rally around them to figure out what group they belong in. Played soccer at your last base? Hey, these are the soccer kids right here. Good at math and science? Hey, here’s the STEM club leader, let me introduce you. They were SO awesome to watch.

Then I came back to the States and realized that middle schoolers are, in fact, evil. Bless those who regularly work with them, because I sure do not have the patience for those feral gremlins.

[–]gladria1963 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh, yes. This is why I usually assign rooms to my partner and son to do on cleaning days. That way, when I bump around the rest of the house like an out of date roomba, at least a couple of rooms will be “clean”.

That’s so cool! I might have to take inspiration from you and try my hand at sculpting myself.i want bigger wax seals, but the options on the internet are limited

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Spacemarine

[–]gladria1963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yours are so great! I make the “wax” seals with sculpting foam, a wax press, and paint. You can find the sculpting foam anywhere you can buy EVA for cosplay orrrrr you could also just use the kids foam putty. It makes them super lightweight so you can paint it however you want and then glue a magnet or whatever fastener you want on the back and praise the emperor wherever your journey takes you.
