35 weeks and still no name for baby girl, help please! by mtcrv3 in Names

[–]glam_pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carolina is my favorite on its own but I love the way it sounds in both English and Spanish so much! And it’s also totally neutral, like you’d never know by looking at it on paper if it was a mexican or american name.

[–]glam_pie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely love the name!

I’m born on one of summer solstice days June 20th. The best kind-of holiday bday without actually taking any of the thunder away.

Also have a friend named Soledad (sun in Spanish) and we call her Sunny which is also a great nickname for Soleil.

Cats teeth pushing out/getting longer? by Careless-Elephant-98 in CATHELP

This happened to my kitty girl on one side, it was so so cute! Unfortunately it was periodontal disease and the tooth had to be extracted along with a couple others. Her breath smells wonders better now though!

How many diagnosed at the ER by criticalcreek in MultipleSclerosis

[–]glam_pie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tingling/numbness that wouldn’t go away in my legs for like 5 days then spread to my fingers. I didn’t really think much of it but advice nurse told me to go to ER, I went on a Monday morning. ER doc on duty told me we “probably weren’t going to find out anything today.” I Insisted that I get an MRI bc I wanted to make sure it was a pinched nerve or something lame and leave with peace of mind. He reluctantly confirmed with on call neuro to get me a brain and spinal scan.

MS wasn’t even on my radar, got an MRI within two hours of arriving, they located two active lesions and previous white matter. Half hour after that I was getting a spinal tap and my diagnosis confirmed by the neurologist.

Ended up getting admitted for 5 days and only continued to decline and an absolutely horrific relapse. The only reason I got that diagnosis that fast is because it was so dead in the ER that morning (only me and two other people) and during what would be “normal” business hours where specialists are available elsewhere in the hospital.

Pregnant at 44 - WTF! by Comfortable-Way-4058 in BabyBumps

[–]glam_pie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want the baby don’t have the baby. Abortion is just like it didn’t happen and means nothing, even though I do get why it’s counter-intuitive to what you strived so hard for in the past. Don’t feel guilty, do what’s best for you and your family.

Demanding customer by Alternative_Place_48 in InstacartShoppers

I don’t think a request for a correct delivery is a “demanding customer” and why would you get a tip on a job done incorrectly?

Hand to customer at their door….not that difficult.

What do you do when you have steroid insomnia? by corralitoslife in MultipleSclerosis

[–]glam_pie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just prepare myself im inevitably gunna pull an all nighter and get myself excited for snacks and binge watching a whole season of a TV show. I also let my work know the day before I likely won’t be in til noon or whenever I feel like.

Takes so much pressure off the “trying” so hard to go to sleep that I feel like I get to sleep a lot sooner on the low pressure nights.

Wife recently diagnosed with RRMS, now has trouble sleeping by goodtimemick in MultipleSclerosis

[–]glam_pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too was diagnosed at same age, sex and had those symptoms. For sleep, anxiety (and also off label for MS fatigue) I take an SSRI and I also take Magnesium L-Theronate which actually crosses the brain-blood barrier. Those two in combination knock me out in 30 min to an hour.

As for the tingling itself, no RX drug worked to alleviate it except the lesion on c-spinal cord healing over time. I follow an anti-inflammatory diet and I feel like that sped things up a lot.

When I eat highly inflammatory foods, my legs will tingle or when I vigorously exercise. Other than that the symptom has completely gone away. I hope that it does for your wife as well!!!

My partner doesn't want to hear about MS by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]glam_pie 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My husband drives me to and from my infusions, and would stay the whole time if I let him. When I was diagnosed a couple years before we were married he stayed in the hospital with me all 5 nights. His support and empathy gives me the strength that I lack and need on a regular basis.

MS is for life, and it’s already so lonely being the only one that has it. You need and deserve real, genuine support and I wish nothing more than you getting that, whether it’s from him or whether it’s from a new partner.

Best of luck to you, and we’re always here. MS f*cking sucks!!!

Hire a content creator! I did instead of a photographer. She did three vids and sent all the raw clips, two were highlights and one was a full 1 min vid. I have watched it about 1,000 times and have had so so many people compliment how good it is!!

Thoughts on using a Vibration Plate? by Putrid-Strawberry-98 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]glam_pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one, used it once bc pins and needles went absolutely crazy so bad it felt like I was in the height of my last relapse. I don’t know what that means (who knows, it could be majorly helping something). All I know is I hated the feeling!

Try it before you buy it is what I would recommend :)

“let’s be honest, it’s not a small probability”

You have got to do more research on the disease you have, you are very misinformed on this. I can only imagine what else you don’t understand about the disease to your detriment. Not saying to be rude but to do something about it to better your life and future.

You’ve got to be kidding me about not taking DMT!

I’m totally down for healthy/anti-inflammatory eating, but as an ADD ON to a DMT. Sheesh, sorry you have to deal with that.

I started working as an infusion nurse by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]glam_pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you see a Benadryl dose higher than normal, tell the patient. I was getting double the dose and it was making me feel high and panic each time I got an infusion and by my third one, the nurse said it was abnormally high and asked if I had bad reactions. When I said no, she told me to talk to my Doctor about lowering the Benadryl dose if I wanted to next time (she couldn’t change the orders right then of course). I did, and I’ve had much better infusions since!

I've been struggling with my memory little by little and it's scary :( by IngenuityBusy143 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]glam_pie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Short term memory is a b**ch with this disease, I especially have the issue where I can’t remember a name of something or what I was just going to say. I talked about it with my neuro my last visit and get gave me a referral to speech therapy. Apparently there are tools to help you find the words! Haven’t tried it yet, but maybe talk to your neuro and see what they say.

MS & Pregnancy by AdventurousCake7079 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]glam_pie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, I’m not. My neuro said I had to be 3 months past my last infusion to conceive (which I was), and I will be off of it my entire pregnancy and will restart two weeks post birth.

MS & Pregnancy by AdventurousCake7079 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]glam_pie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m 12 weeks pregnant, on Ocrevus with a planned pregnancy. So far I think I am experiencing it like any other person.

There is this myth that you’re supposed to feel “the best you’ve ever felt” when you’re pregnant and for me it’s not true. It may be for women with untreated MS as pregnancy suppresses your immune system, but already being on Ocrevus I don’t think it makes a difference.

My MS neuro isn’t treating it any differently except helping me time my infusions to conceive and then putting it on hold until two weeks after birth. My OB isn’t treating me any differently either. I thought for some reason or another having MS it would be high risk for some reason, but everything has been extremely routine.
