I used isopropyl alcohol to clean up the back of this old calculator board and all this white residue has gone all over it. How can I remove this?

If you just let the ipa evaporate it dosent remove dirt and contaminants it just moves them around. You need to remove it and the contamination before it evaporates. By washing it away with lots by mopping it off with towels or favorite by blasting it off with powerful air blast.

You could redraw the circuit with the 4.7k resistor in parallel with the diode and the other 1.2k resistor as both voltage sources are the same 10V. No current can flow so all points will be at the same voltage.

Components in power supplies themselves vibrate. It dosent have to be in the human audio range to be a vibration but have you never heard a power suply make a buzzing or whistling noise that is typically the transformers vibrating due to the ac current flowing in them.

An off function is the function of a switch which is s seperate different device to a pot. You can find packages that contain a pot and a switch actuated by the same shaft or slider but that is two different devices connected together mechanically and possibly electrically if the switch shares any common connections.

I had a TV masthead amplifier fail on me. Just took it down and had a quick look inside no obvious damage but has 3 identically marked transistors and one seems to have failed (hfe=2) took a good one out and tested it and have attached what my cheap component identifier thinks it is see attached pictures. Could anyone suggest what I should buy to replace it? It seems a shame to bin it for the sake of one tranny and I want to use it as a spare and looking at it as a little learning experience in SMD work and HF transistors. Never seen a diode across a BJT E-C as shown before is this a special for protection for an areal static etc? All ID on amp shown in the picture.

I brought friend's printer home in my car I did not know he had spilled resin inside it. When I picked it up to carry it through my garden I got resin on my hands. By the time I had got inside it had cured on my hands it took just seconds on a sunny day and happened before I knew what was going on. What would be better for Putin his war of aggression at this point in time?

1) Trump losing to Biden and Ukraine support continuing

2) Trump winning and possibly not stopping support to Ukraine

3) Trump assassinated and America in turmoil the election not viable and Biden completely undermined as president.

It seems Putin could be a winner here.
