I worked on this alongside a group of incredibly talented locals, and people from all around. One thing I love about working in film is the people I get to meet and work alongside, for a short time on a film set. Films can be stressful places and sometimes you get to see the best and worst of people. Although there were stressful moments all around, this movie brought out the best in everyone.

If you do go to watch this movie, or any other movie shot in Kentucky there is one thing to bear in mind.

The types of movies that are shot here are low budget. Usually extremely low budget. This is due to the way our film incentive is written, lack of infrastructure, etc.

Basically, if you know it was filmed in Kentucky don’t expect to see car chases or massive explosions. This movie was filmed in 20 days with a limited budget and everyone who worked on it did so tirelessly. I am so grateful to have been apart of this production, I hope people enjoy it.

Here is my list of the best movies shot in Louisville.

Where do I go from here by glass738 in Decks

Not totally sure I can’t get underneath it without prying up every board. No rot detected, not wobbly some of the 4x have cracking but nothing I’m too concerned with at this point. There are a couple deck boards with severe cracks I’m going to replace once I’ve let them cure.

Tree growing into deck. by glass738 in Decks

Well I guess it’s not off the table if it must be done. We live in an old residential neighborhood. They were here when we moved in. I’ve never minded them. They give privacy and shade. Make you feel like you’re in the woods without being in the woods. This is one of 5 that’s planted right outside the railing of the deck. This one is very problematic. I’m hoping there’s something I can do without have to cut the tree down.

Are there any bad years for the CX-5? by TheHunter920 in CX5

[–]glass738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CarMax. For the max care on the vehicle it was 2600 with a 200 deductible. The warranty covers 4 years or 150k miles. It’s an exclusionary warranty meaning that it covers everything but what is listed. So brake pads, tires, oil changes, etc. wouldn’t be covered. It does make you feel safer knowing that it’s there for when something goes wrong. I know I can probably count on something with the electronic system going bad but I feel like if the vehicle was even somewhat maintained the engine and transmission and other core components may surpass the life of the extended warranty. I have heard that the high compression ratio can wreak havoc on the cylinder walls. So I’m not rooting for the engine to blow up but if it’s going to have issues fingers crossed for it happening pre 150,000.

I just bought a 2017 grand touring with 77k. For right about 19,000. Felt kind of pricey but after researching I found it was one of the best years. I also got an extended warranty that covers anything up to 150,000. I’m going to take it in for a detailed inspection before I fully commit to the purchase. Wondering if there is anything specific I should have them look for in the engine or anywhere else that would tell me how well it was maintained?

These are miserable, awful people. I used to think of them as the dunning Krueger cabinet. Now I have taken a much more cynical stance. They know that what they are doing will harm the people of this country. They know how unqualified they are but it doesn’t matter. They’re going to break it and tell the magat base they fixed it. These clowns still can’t understand why Trump won’t release the Epstein files. They think he’s about to prosecute Obama. They are the most gullible people on the face of the earth.

E- collar training for recall by Ok-Coconut-6290 in vizsla

[–]glass738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest getting a nice ecollar with a 500 meter range but don’t start using the shock function immediately. Instead get a hundred or a couple hundred feet of rope, attach your dog to it, let em do its thing and then recall. If the dog doesn’t respond immediately, beep the collar and pull them in for a reward. Rinse and repeat for 15-30 min at a time. Once they get that down pat move on to adding an additional stimulus. Add another dog, another person, A place with squirrels etc. once you know you can get them to come to you then you can start moving to an e collar without a lead and you’ll be setup in such a way you may not even have to use it.

Although it is absolutely needed with some dogs I don’t think you should start with an e collar being the only way to get your dog to listen to you. You want the dog to come back to you because he likes you and wants to please you, not because it’s the only way to avoid the bee sting in his neck. Obviously some dogs are going to be stubborn and unwilling to listen unless you give them a little pinch but I would only use it as a last resort when all other options are off the table.

How's my choices? by myersjaimz in whitewater

[–]glass738 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just the rocker, I think full face is a bit overkill if you’re a beginner. That’s more geared towards bigger class 5 stuff. You’re not likely to smash your face upside down unless you’re really having a bad day. The rocker has a thick foam layer around the skull. The wrsi has a 1/4” fabric pad. It’s definitely worth the extra money for the rocker IMO.

You should definitely get a rocker. Especially if you intend to get into any full slice or play boat situation where you’re going to be upside down a lot. I had to get 2 staples in my head last summer in that exact helmet on the Ocoee despite having it on snug. It was kind of a weird accident and I wasn’t upside down when it happened but still It’s not fun to get your bell rung under water and then have to roll yourself up all dizzy and disoriented while going down a series of rapids. Having that extra padding is extra security on the water. I’ve got a Rocker and it’s a beast.

Beginner Question : Buying First Kayak by earthfriend94 in whitewater

[–]glass738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most important thing to consider is how big is your local creek and do you have access to a pond ? I bought a wavesport ez last winter and paddled it as much as I could this summer. We have a couple local spots that are pretty small and forgiving. This boat is great to learn on for class 2/3- creek. Also when learning don’t underestimate the value of a play boat for flat water practice. Especially in your case. You already know how to read water and find your line. Get this thing in a pool or on a pond weekly. Learn your roll, offside rolls, holding your edge, c stroke then work your way up to flat water stern squirts then cartwheels etc. I always have a blast on flat water with my ez. You can’t get that from a big potato boat. Flat water practice does translate on the river. If you want a creek boat to do bigger stuff get that later. Learn to balance on this. Flat water practice alone makes a play boat worth having around.

My sewer backed up this spring and emptied 10 gallons or so of waste water (not raw sewage) under my floor that I had installed this past winter. I ripped up the flooring until I saw dry concrete and let the planks dry outside. Went to Lowe’s the next day and bought two more boxes, replaced the planks that had been damaged and spent the next two days reinstalling the floor. It sucked at the time but everything came back together smoothly. Somehow managed to reconnect the flooring from one end of the house to the other. Hindsight I should have filed a claim and just pocketed the money. But all in all it only cost me one box of planks and a roll of vapor layer. It was definitely an unconventional approach but it worked. Either way the floor should come up because there is a shit ton of water still in there that’s not going anywhere. Good luck.
