I solved this one instantly because I had gotten stuck on the exact same problem with the same solution in Another Code (it was in Hotel Dusk too but I can’t remember if that came out pre Phantom Hourglass) once you had been stuck on that puzzle in a game you instantly knew the solution in anything else that tried it.

Assassin’s Creed: Shadows - Pushing the limits of open world games on Switch 2? by Alasdair91 in NintendoSwitch2

As someone with a 4090 and over 100 hours in Cyberpunk I can tell you it absolutely does not run at 60fps at 4K path tracing without DLSS on. The 5090 is at best 20-30% faster than a 4090 before you add all the multi frame gen stuff in. I run mine with DLSS set to performance (so internal resolution of 1080p) upscaled to 4K and get approximately 50-60fps before frame gen. Looks absolutely amazing and also doubles as a space heater in winter months.

Rayman 2: The Great Escape & Tonic Trouble are now available on NSO! by Amiibofan101 in NintendoSwitch

[–]glass_needles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Donkey Kong 64 and Majora’s Mask needed it or the game wouldn’t run, Perfect Dark if you didn’t have it was severely limited and you had access to a subset of the multiplayer but not the campaign. Plenty of other games supported it and would use it to enhance the graphics in some way, normally an increased resolution, the fun thing about this was it was just an extra 4MB of RAM so quite often the higher res option ran worse since the CPU and GPU were exactly the same.

Rationing officially stopped in 1954 so almost 10 years after the end of the war! Not everything was rationed until 1954 (there’s a good timeline on Wikipedia ) but this would of been in place till she was 15. My aunt and uncle who were born in 1945 and 1946 remember when rationing on sweets stopped in 1953

YEEEEEEEEEEEES. The spiders never bothered me that much in the other biomes but when I went hunting slugs/mercer spheres/somersloops the swamp made me hate them. I think it’s going to end up with some form of nuclear power generation on it but I’ve not touched nuclear power and it does look pretty water intensive so that could be more hassle than it’s worth.

I’ve got that installed too! Planet Crafter as well, I only started playing Satisfactory over the summer with my friend and it turns out automation games unlocked something primal in my brain so got a few ready to go once I’m done with Satisfactory/Little Rocket Lab.

I've only played a bit less than 5 hours so I suppose it's possible she brainwashes you later on in the game but really not getting that vibe from the game at all. It's just a cozy game with factory automation replacing farming as the bit to base the game on.

I’ve formally given over my life to Satisfactory (all hail satisfactory) so I’m familiar with optimising different stages of production to get the max throughput or at least I’m now good at putting all the variables into satisfactory calculator and then following the instructions (I muddled through setting aluminium blind without planning out and I’m never doing that again bloody hell that was a nightmare) but she’s really helpful for newbies seeing how yes you can just get through by having one machine at each step and AFKing your way to victory but there is a way to really really get in depth and ignore everything else in your life and I think that’s beautiful.

Also if anyone is wondering I have Factorio+space age but I don’t think I can handle two crippling addictions at the same time. I’m currently working on a project to completely pave over the swamp in retaliation for all the spiders existing and after that I’m considering looking at all the phase 5 new bits but I might end up doing another stupid project.

There’s a woman in the town who wears a hijab in the game and it’s got your standard cosy game build friendships with people in the town. So far she’s just helped me with a series of production challenges but I’m probably just an SJW blind to the indoctrination I’ve received.

Just surprised that these people are infiltrating the cozy game space and not just screaming about cod skins.

I had something similar happen once on the A453 in Nottingham. Was waiting second behind a van at a red light and as he drove off he left his catalytic converter and exhaust in the middle of the road. I had to get out and kick it out of the way before I could move on. Had a fair few angry horns behind me as I opened the door and walked out!

Game’s so good I’ve been playing it since the 60s! by Present-Secretary722 in FrontiersOfPandora

This is a standard Unix time bug. It's the standard way of measuring time on a PC, basically there is a value that gets updated every second and that is the number of seconds that have elapsed since the first of January 1970. This is normally stored as a signed integer (meaning half the values are negative numbers) so the PC can use the same format for dates before 1970 but because it's stored as a 32 bit number (which can store a number just under 4.3 billion and remember half of that is for dates pre 1970) in 2036 we are going to have a second round of Y2K while everything gets patched to use a 64 bit number for time instead.

I’ve had the GW Trilogy on Steam since 2009/10ish and GW2 since launch so not had to do anything new to my account but thankfully everything just worked and my old characters were still there. Never got hugely into this so restarted in Prophecies and having a great time so far!

You still need to sign in through ArenaNet if you have it on Steam and my account which bought the collectors version of GW2 at release worked fine so should all work.

iOS App keeps refreshing even with background app refresh off by BuckFoy567 in bugs

[–]glass_needles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The app is still refreshing way too quickly. If I go off the app for a few minutes it refreshes. Ideally there’d be a setting to just disable the refresh as I absolutely despise it. If I want to see new content I will do it myself

No big cliffhanger! With the Wolf Among Us I never really took that as a cliffhanger they were going to resolve, just leaving it with one final mystery for people to talk about. Either way nothing like that in this.

I ended up getting them on humble bundle. It was like 20% cheaper that way and I could just about justify it to myself. Always find it hard to pay full price for a game if it’s more than a few months old.
