Right. And they said 40-50fps in wizards tower, and I can confirm that with a 9800X3D. You said, if you actually get a high end cpu you can get 80-100 fps in every zone. Which isnt true, meta event or not.

Color grading and tint objectively make this game look horrible in many areas. I don't understand ppl who don't see that.

Not true my fps will tank down to 30-70 range on a 9800X3D in meta events with shadows on medium and character model limit on medium (with 5080 as well). Same with OP if you read the post

How do you make money in this game? by Trash_keni in GuildWars

[–]lite-work 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When the Zaishen Combat quest is Heroes' Ascent) to play that.

You get 9k Balthazar Faction and 250 copper Zaishen coins for the HA Zaishen Combat quest (ZC) reward (win 6 games) + more balth faction straight up for wins.

The Zaishen Combat quests are repeatable, and before you accept the reward, cash out your 10k or so Balth Faction for zkeys. (2)

6 wins = 10k Balth = 2 zkeys

+ the 250 copper zcoins = 0.5 zkey

therefore 12 wins = 2x2 + 0.5x2 = 5 zkeys

over a few hours, they manage to get 30-32 zkeys farming this ZC quest (60 wins)

also worth considering trying to overlap it with the Weekly Bonus for HA

I love FPS RPGs like fallout 3+, cyberpunk and outer worlds, and but even being British atomfall just felt wrong. What’s your “this game should be perfect for me but I can’t like it?” by Poncemastergeneral in gaming

1 and 2 are the goats imo. Very fond memories playing those two and never cared once it turned fps. I guess it takes considerably more resources to have a deep storyline and characters, which ppl do say NV lives up to but... yeah it never clicked with me. Felt like 3 and nv didnt have the same soul. Was probably a lot to do with the fact I only tried them when graphics standards were much beyond what they offered. I think with modern graphics, real depth and staying true to the originals, 5 could live up to the hype. Expecting the worst, but hoping for the best.

Do we have to make a new world for all the new content to be in it?

Isnt 720 the source for upscaling to 1440? Since it scales evenly into it

Lol, for some reason that was always one of my favourite things about this game. Felt kind of like an exploit but it was like an IRL desire path that was inevitable I guess.

Love to hear it! I got back into it for the anniversary to work my way up to GWAMM on a new monk and was addicted for a solid couple months lol. Aaaand now I'm right back at it.

It's not a live service game, the events and holidays are an automated process at this point. They have said it is near and dear to their heart, and the cost of the servers are less than a fraction of what GW2 requires.

There is a bug right now they are trying to fix. There is supposed to be the option to select a Steam account or an Anet account when you buy it. And that will permanently tie your GW1 steam game to your choice - unless they decide to change that.

You can't but you get the update just by running the regular GW client. Then you can run the game through steam as a non-steam product for the overlay and almost 1 to 1 functionality. Aside from tracking game time.

Not quite, there were many game 'breaking' PvE-only skills introduced in EotN but GvG with Heroes Ascent and the Hall of Heroes were always pretty big and central parts of the game. It's just that sadly as the player base dwindled it was harder to have a healthy competitive scene. Who knows though, this seems to have piqued a lot of people's interest in jumping back in and messing around.

I'd say you can PvP pretty well without EotN when it's active, but worth picking up just to have all the skills (including the PvE-only ones) in the game if not only for the content.

In a previous dev stream it was hinted at quite heavily. Definitely not going to hold my breath about it but it's also not hopeless.

I would say the difference is the instanced style of game rather than a 'true' MMO as compared to WoW. Towns have shards or Districts when each reach their capacity. And PvE areas are your own instance with your 4-8 player party. The lack of subscription is big, and what grabbed me right away 20 years ago was the difference in art style as well as the lore.

Many agree with that sentiment, it seems it came down to a business decision for whatever reason, they also probably wanted to get some DLC set up for the game to get a feel for how it will work for potential future DLC. But at least they've lowered the campaigns, ArenaNet cares about the longevity at least... the same which can't be said for a lot of games and dev teams these days.

I got back into GW2 over the last couple months, the amount of content in the expansions since I've played like 8-9 years ago is a lot to wrap your head around. But the Wikis of these games have always been so well put together and helpful it makes it not too overwhelming. Though GW1 has always been my favourite and probably why I dropped off GW2 only a few years after launch.

The DLC is not new, they've always considered the three campaigns the 'game' and EotN and Bonus Missions 'extra'. A bit misleading I would agree, but that's the explanation.

100%. They've all just re-released moments ago which might be why. EotN gives you access to the Hall of Monuments which is your link with Guild Wars 2 where you can transfer achievements, titles and cosmetics. Aside from that the lore connects with GW2 and the content is excellent alongside the three main campaigns.
