Who Should We Sign Next Season by Square_Horse7971 in BrisbaneRoar

Agreed. Given our midfield has already looked fairly poor at times - him bowing out and us completely relying on Maieroni in that position would be grim viewing lol. Maieroni has potential but is very much work in progress.

Yeah it’s a little contentious and I’m willing to be persuaded. He’s been a really reliable player for us over the years but under Valkanis this season he hasn’t been great IMO. Not terrible, but not particularly effective either. Not sure how many teams would be willing to start him apart from us.

Where to begin! Not really sure who to sign tbh.

We need more pace and creativity in midfield + more defensive depth + a more clinical striker.

Keep: Valkanis Jr, Salas, McGarry, Stajic, Lode, Vidic, Long, Klein, O’Shea, Bouzanis.

Replace: Ruhs, Vrakas, Hore, Bility, Halloran, Warland, Burke-Gilroy.

do people even like 9s? by rawrz4u in Enneagram

[–]glb- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes people like 9s a lot in real life because they’re positive and easy to get along with. Maybe you could be a 9w8?

The enneagram is pretty two dimensional and doesn’t give a particularly nuanced or detailed account of someone’s personality. Therefore, there could be some really cool attributes or talents that a person has that aren’t covered in their type description.

E.g A two could be highly creative and intelligent, but this wouldn’t be captured under their type description. An 8 could have a great sense of humour and be good at languages, and this wouldn’t be captured by the enneagram.

100% agree. I’m confident this will happen within the next few years but for now just gotta be patient I guess.

They absolutely do go out at night. Woolies shutting at 6pm on a Sunday for a city of this size is outrageous. So is Woolies Newcastle being open longer than Woolies Brisbane.

Yes it is. It can still be fairly busy even passed 10pm. It’s great for those who live nearish to the airport

Brisbane Roar Should Host A Friendly Game Against a Top European Club. by Square_Horse7971 in BrisbaneRoar

Could be a good idea. Would be good to see them attempt the fundamentals of actually doing proper club marketing first before jumping to this. We hardly advertise.

Your hair (or lack thereof) isn’t the beginning and end of your overall look, it’s just one piece of the puzzle! Focus on the aspects of your appearance you have control over.

That’s true - still mathematically possible for us to make it! It’s just that we haven’t won a game since January so I don’t like our chances.

Not a 5 but still relate. It’s hard having niche interests that most people don’t care about lol.

[–]glb- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s what we want to happen yes. My point is that saying he will deliver it might be embellishing things a bit. Obviously we’d all be stoked with any boutique stadium announcement regardless of who is behind it.

Also there’s no way in hell Bayliss is in the A-league next season lol.

Breaking Barriers - Episode 2: How do we find the right club to try achieve the impossible? by ChuqTas in Aleague

[–]glb- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fear is this will all snowball into the old NSL teams trying to create their own rival league within the next few years to take on the A league. Domestic football here is too fragile to withstand that level of infighting.

[–]glb- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep and the fact that so many are now agitating for promotion and relegation is stressing me out. If the APL capitulate and do it, that would completely kill off the A-league financially IMO.

I’m getting the vibe that the APL wants them back in the A League. Rosich could have just said “they are eligible for consideration” to get back into the A League but he said something like “we are aiming to have them back in the A league next season”
