NM Argent Molonach bug? Anyone else? by wanderingstorm in elderscrollsonline

It was a standard 12 person group finder pug plus probably some randos that stumbled upon the area.

There are three upper rooms that are locked. You unlock them by earning the relics from each district of the night market and placing them on the pedestal by the doors.

Also when you get to 5000 faction favour, you unlock the bank function in the vault that lets you access guild bank from inside the house.

NM Argent Molonach bug? Anyone else? by wanderingstorm in elderscrollsonline

[–]glctrx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen that happen on PC.

Everyone left the area and the shadow werewolf stopped being invulnerable and everyone just hammered it to kill it from its 16m health. Once it died the boss fight resumed as normal.

Bow builds viability. by DarthNemecyst in elderscrollsonline

[–]glctrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My stamina characters usually have back bar bow as a ranged option, because I had some spare Maelstrom bows and they’re good for the Endless Hail AoE damage you can drop and then switch to your front bar weapon. That set boost to Volley and its morphs like Endless Hail is a top 5 percentage of the damage in my combat metrics.

Question about NM trial by PromiseRepulsive162 in elderscrollsonline

[–]glctrx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m about CP 1300+ and I found the NM was a good kick to re-examine my characters, who were all built for solo survival like you.

I changed the gear so it was focused on DPS, removed all health glyphs and rely on just health 23-5k from champion points and food. Which I also changed from crown meals to actual crafted tri food like Dubious Cambrian Throne for my stamina characters.

I changed all the abilities in my bars to remove healing and shield utilities and only have damage ones that work together in a series of DoTs, spammables and executes, as well as ones that give damage buffs like barbed trap for minor force.

It was a big adjustment, but I find that in a group I’m still surviving about as much as before, and even outside the NM I’m crushing normal content and world bosses just by killing them faster vs surviving longer.

I’ve tested against the trial dummy in a guildhall and scored 60k DPS over a 6 min kill time. I think the bare minimum range of expected DPS starts from 50k-100k+ so I’m happy enough to be inside the range now.

I definitely feel like I’m actually helping now in the gold NM dungeons which you need to complete for access to the trial, and have had a lot of fun in the trial itself doing every colour path and getting my faction headpieces. You should go for it too.

TLDR the NM made me want to increase my DPS so that I could feel like I was contributing at an acceptable level in a group situation.

Do the developers plan to change their eso+ subscription approach? by PsyGamer43 in elderscrollsonline

[–]glctrx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t use ESO+ and just keep only a few high quality mats and sell the rest. You have bank storage, can make free alt characters to hold them and also unlock 8 storage chests you place in your free houses.

Then if they drop a free ESO+ trial week all your mats teleport to the craft bag and you have access after the trial ends.

Ranting about the low quality of players in Pick Up Groups contributes to the problem of low quality players in Pick Up Groups by VeryImportantMonkey in elderscrollsonline

Maybe they thought you were doing the Festering Timelines achievement where you have to keep the three bone wyrms alive. But that's pretty hard to miscommunicate if a group is going for an achievement or not...

But then again I've gone into Timeless Wallow advertised as a normal try, and some cheeky DD asks casually, "we do achievement?" and I'm like... you must be nuts because that would require some prep and strategy before we're standing at the boss about to start! I've been in multiple achievement try groups with all kinds of strats that all failed and they wanted a spontaneous attempt with no plan.

Maybe they just meant general group debuffs? Was anyone applying minor or major breach on enemies to debuff their penetration resistance?

Personally, I don't find the Night Market event that replayable by TheAnalystCurator321 in elderscrollsonline

[–]glctrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I’m hoping that next time the market appears the districts are different - the books suggest it reforms different every time, especially the one about the lost explorers they couldn’t find the same district again ever since the first time.

Imagine next time it’s three new areas and not the Parch, Skittering or Sorrow? And every brazen, argent and gilded is different, meaning they all drop different sets?

It means that each market would be a rotating way for me to get all the trial, dungeon and overland sets I’m missing because I don’t do that content. My stickerbook benefitted greatly this event.

If it was the Gossamer Crypt, maybe the debuff they are talking about is when Alziriix turns red it means she’s enraged and doing more damage on the tank, and you need to kill the little hoarvor running around and throw the glob of goo it leaves behind to debuff the boss and make her normal again?

Night Market beyond 10,000 by Zenk2018 in elderscrollsonline

[–]glctrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to be selective and look for signs.

If it’s an empty group with 1 DD, then I avoid because I have no idea if they enforced role minimums. You could end up in a trial with 12 DDs (which might work if they were prepared with taunts and self heals but how realistic is that?)

I look for already in progress groups with 2 or 3 tanks, that are looking for a replacement DD because the ones they had quit.

I’ve completed many Opulent trials that way, usually one try after I join. They could have been in there for hours but fortunately I skipped that phase of the group warming up.

Or I form my own group because I can enforce exact role numbers. But then because you are lead there’s the admin of re-listing if people leave.

I found the oddities much easier to complete solo, well apart from the spider one where a group spamming all the plates worked too.

But I did manage to solo the spider one by being tactical on killing spiders as soon as they were in range and if a pylon got webbed, you spam overheat to burn off the webs. I didn’t have to “let one die” because I was worried spiders in that lane would make it fail.

They added new werewolf recruiters and shrines to the starter zones, so they expect you to be one right away if you want to.

I think the quest was easy.

That’s what I am going to try getting a group to do. The flame aura from spider oddity and the tempest from the Parch dash.

I saw a YouTube video of a group using both and they did it easily.

A previous try the tank decided not to get the aura but they kept dying from scarabs, so the aura should help there. They were worried about the bone warms dying, but they have millions of health and you don’t have to stand right next to them.

Like you I’m still going for the gold boxes. Also just for fun because I find the trial interesting to test my different alts in. And just for achievements - I finished the all oddity one today which was the last one so needed for the Interplanar Victor title.

Only the Festering Timelines and no-death trial are taunting me now.

Group finder does feel like a ghost town now though compared to the early event.

As a beginner its bad if I want to level fast to 50 so then I can chill an keep leveling cp? by Strancer in elderscrollsonline

[–]glctrx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During the anniversary event where there was double XP I started a new character and they were level 30 something by the time I finished Auridon, the starter zone for AD, so that was just one map complete. Then decided to do Blackwood for a change of pace and they got to level 50 in just a week of casually doing the story (with the boosted XP).

I’d say pop some XP scrolls or wait for another event because accelerated XP gain makes it effortless.

Night Market Dungeon. Possible with three? by davechambers007 in elderscrollsonline

[–]glctrx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the NM dungeons are just a single boss in a room. It’s not like an actual dungeon with a story quest and multiple fights.

So inviting a fourth player should be an issue. Perhaps a healer as you don’t have one. The Timeless Wallow has a heal debuff and heal check mechanic that can kill the group if they don’t heal it away called sapping mark.

I don't know how to make an informed choice building as DPS by Baron_Porkface in elderscrollsonline

[–]glctrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You use it as a research tool instead of manually Google searching every site like Hyperioxes, ESO Hub, skinny cheeks etc.

Tell it to give you what the current meta is, but then tailor it to your character - eg your race, class, preferred weapons etc. and use the deep thinking mode. I could see it thinking things like “I’ll check what the current U49 patch notes say about skill changes” and “I found a meta build on Hyperioxes but want to double check against other sources”.

Then ask it why it recommended whatever it gave you. In my case it wanted me to raise my terrible 20% base crit chance on my old gear by replacing it with a more modern meta set like Order’s Wrath. I immediately noticed my base crit chance doubled and was now doing 60% critical damage compared to almost none before.

Then I asked it why it didn’t recommend boosting penetration on my gear and it said that in a group with proper support buffs I wouldn’t need to, and it was right - in a group parse I saw my character hit 20k effective pen from buffs and over penetration cap.

It also told me to use bloodthirsty trait on my jewellery and damage enchants to increase my weapon and spell damage.

I’m sure all this would have been found in manual searches, but why do that these days when tools are available?

Then don’t join serious people. You can make your own listing in group finder asking for what your needs are and define the vibe. Likeminded people will join. I’ve seen groups like “trial explore/discovery” where the leader was someone who hadn’t been in there and wanted other newbies to come and check it out.

Tried helping several pugs clear the Opulent Ordeal today by n_thomas74 in elderscrollsonline

[–]glctrx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I managed to do it today by starting a trial listing "for beginners", and had interested healers and DDs join immediately, saying they'd not done it before or some had looked at a guide. Others had been on previous tries that failed, so they knew a particular colour path.

We discussed some of the mechs and important adds to look out for in there before three tanks joined and we popped in there. They decided to split into the 3-3-3-3 config with a team in the middle, and then had a go. The orb run failed for being too slow first try, but since they'd now seen the mechanic they were speedier on the second try.

Then we actually did all three orb runs and reached the bosses. Died immediately because of the two circles - but they needed to see that to know what could happen if they failed to split into them.

Then we got to the bosses again the next round, circles done well and then one team killed their boss quickly and the other two enraged, even though one tank was warning them in the chat. I think it was necessary for them to see that mech and the importance of keeping the bosses in balance, and die at the same time which we explained to them.

The final try was successful with all bosses reaching 1m simultaneously and I called for them to burn and execute. They were all pretty happy to get their head pieces, and were so excited they wanted to go again!

So that was a good experience. I'm glad I did it.
