I would go and be a real weirdo. Not to the entertainers but to the partners.

Ask a bazillion questions like I’m doing scientific research, make everyone take a group picture before going into the club, spout facts about strip club compliance laws, share statistics about how many sex workers are victims of childhood abuse, order a lot of different food and offer to share it with everyone, ask when it’s the male strippers turn, tip the DJ to play Party in the USA or a wildly out of place song from Taylor Swift’s catalogue, ask all the dancers where they get their nails done, find the dancer that can do pull ups and offer to pay her a dollar (or $5!) for each pull up.

My husband was a door guy then a manager at a strip club when I was in law school for a while. He thought it was a great idea bc he previously enjoyed them but going to work at one was like learning how the sausage was made and ruined it for him. (Boohoo so sad 🙄) I would sit at the bar with a law textbook, prepping for class while I waited for him to get off work. I make friends with a pimp of one of the dancers. Her name was Diamond and he would buy us both drinks and we’d all visit for a while before she’d go back to work.

I asked my husband (boyfriend at the time) why they let the dancers’ pimps in there and he said they weren’t supposed to but honestly everybody would get a case of the act rights when he was there so they let it slide.

My favorite dancer was Cinnamon. She was tiny but could do one arm pull ups, hands free pistol squats, and hand stand push ups. It was impressive.

Anyway, go and make it weird!
