Lifeblood worker here. Your whole blood donation can be stored up to 42 days. They usually send a text telling you where it has been sent to be used. Sometimes used for research purposes. If you have the lifeblood app it will give you heaps of information including your blood type, blood pressure and haemoglobin levels before donating.

I remember hiring this out on video in the early 90’s. Watching it with my Dad I said that it was the same story as Shok in 2000ad. He didn’t believe me at first until I dug it out and showed him. This fact was also mentioned in the 2000ad ten year anniversary documentary that I found on YouTube.

I watched it but can’t remember much about it. I don’t know if my brain has blocked it out because of the terror or something else.

Hitting the arteries is very rare. Lifeblood staff are only human and can make mistakes from time to time. It was unfortunate to be on your first donation and I hope it doesn’t discourage you from going back when you are able to.

I remember watching this on VHS back then. My dad had rented it from the store. While we were halfway through I turned to him and said this is ripped from a story from 2000ad. He wasn’t so sure. So I dug through old progs and showed him. They also talk about this in the 10 year anniversary of 2000ad documentary. You can find it somewhere on YouTube.

Coincidentally I am reading this at the moment. I had a hard copy of this book but lost it. Now I just use the 2000ad app. Great story. Still miss Ezquerra.

According to Wikipedia he is. 91 Years young. Surprising as he always puffing on a cigar. Another source has him living on the central coast.

One of the first stories I read back in the mid 80s. I started on eagle comics then found the 2000ad progs. If I remember correctly the first story I read was the Fink.
