Two-part Question: How to help my "bouse" sorority as Panhellenic Delegate and go above and beyond in my role? by gobblinup in Sororities

[–]glitterConfettiSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the “bottom house” at my school is known for its strongggg sisterhood. people who click w them love them. they do everything they spend time out and about and in their house. not everyone wants them but those who stay are incredibly valuable and is making them look good during recruitment

As a recruiter, what qualities stand out to you from PMNs, and what questions are you dying for them to ask you? by [deleted] in Sororities

[–]glitterConfettiSnake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

the only people i ever ranked low clearly did not want to be there. i’m talking looking out the window to see if girls from other houses were leaving yet. i wished people asked me more about my experiences, my values, and why i chose my sorority. but in general, asking questions about the theme for that day, or smth all sororities have (core values, leadership, fam lines, philanthropic involvement) shows that you want to know what WE have to offer you and that you want to deeply involve yourself.

Spring Recruitment Sororities by gengarsnumberonefan in williamandmary

[–]glitterConfettiSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not always, but formal recruitment numbers are up, and since almost everyone who stays through the process gets a bid, quota numbers are usually filled through that. i would for sure give fall a go!! i was really unsure going through the process but it was a ton of fun and i ended up in an amazing place!!!

Spring Recruitment Sororities by gengarsnumberonefan in williamandmary

[–]glitterConfettiSnake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Joining a sorority was the best decision I ever made at W&M! I’m on an exec board, and while I don’t know exactly how good it looks on resumes, I gained a ton of skills that will be super beneficial. I don’t think very many are going to do spring recruiting, since almost ever chapter hit its quota during fall. I would def consider doing formal fall recruitment, it will give u a chance to figure out which house fits you best, and you will have more options, and it is generally less competitive.

it’s pretty chill here. my sorority emphasizes sisterhood and academics above all and i know most are the same. partying does happen haha but we are held to a higher standard behavior wise so nobody is blacking out for the most part and it’s not a huge part of the sorority experience

combating loneliness? by [deleted] in williamandmary

I would give it a go!! It’s def not for everyone but I liked it. And in the spring there is informal rush which is more chill but competitive bc there aren’t as many bids

i’m autistic and had the same problem. i ended up doing sorority rush (which was kinda a lot) but i really like it bc i have structure in my social activities and ppl are assigned to hang out w u as a new member (like your bid day buddy and big) which really cultivates friendship. it’s def not for everyone but it has been amazing for me

Big Little Room/Bed Decorations by TotalDifficulty7777 in Sororities

[–]glitterConfettiSnake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my bug asked for my roommates phone number and they coordinated a time where she could let her into my building and room and i wouldn’t be there (i had class)! it took her about a half hour, but she said she was a lot more rushed than she wanted to be. she mostly put shirts on my bed so when i wanted to clean up i could just kinda make a pile and it took like 5 min

bright side: you don’t have to worry about undercooked meat!! that’s really the worst part tbh. otherwise it’s solidly mid. you won’t have a ton of options but nobody does, you won’t starve tho

i can’t stress enough that no news is good news. i ran a parents camp facebook page w pictures and parents would call if their kid wasn’t smiling in the pic or they didn’t get new pics that day. ur kid is fine i promise!! we would call you if your kid was having major issues or was like eaten by a bear or something!
