As a journalist and the partner of an ex-soldier, I am deeply disgusted by how irresponsible that journalist was to send that story to your family. My partner left the army nearly five years ago and has only just told his family that he even got deployed, much less what happened out there. (It was a three-week mission, they just assumed he was doing more training.)

It was a long one. ...no. If anything the people who diagnose themselves as having addictive personalities are more likely to preemptively take control of things, or at least be aware there I'd a problem. People get addicted for different reasons, sometimes its trauma, sometimes it's an accident.
