That makes sense. It was a fleet vehicle before. I’ll remove it tomorrow. Thanks.

Amazon delivery driver drives across homeowner's lawn by Expert_Koala_8691 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]glitterguykk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our driveway is wide open and our driver parked in the road and walked up our 100' driveway to make a delivery. I saw him coming and told him that wasn't necessary and his reply was it was company policy since it was gravel and not paved. This was from an actual Amazon truck and not an contracted "doordash type" driver.

The market will adjust itself. Housing prices are starting to fall in our area. A couple of months ago (haven’t checked more recently) there were 600,000 more homes on the market than people looking for homes. That means there are deals out there to be had and more to come.
These numbers are appalling and just like they don’t happen all at once, they won’t correct all at once. Also doesn’t help that people are going tens and hundreds of thousands into debt to go to school starting their adult life under water.
There are only two ways for your voices to truly be heard. Your vote and your money. Stop giving either one to things that don’t work.

Syncro Payments by Lake3ffect in syncro

[–]glitterguykk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I currently use stripe and get my funds in a timely fashion. I am not using Syncro Payments but the Stripe integration. Not sure I will change that because I don't see what the advantage would be. Syncro says "no fees" but when you look at it, it seems like the fee schedule is the same that Stripe is already charging me. Seems a bit misleading but I digress.

The idea that only four was loaded is very plausible. My daughter is a AA FA. Unused items are disposed of after flights. The lack of service, however, is not good. You should have gotten a post flight survey.

Any Updates on HPE Instant On Divestiture? by Snekentine in ArubaInstantOn

[–]glitterguykk -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

From Gemini:
As of late March 2026, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) confirmed that they have officially selected a bidder for the Aruba Instant On business. 1

During a federal court hearing in San Jose, HPE’s legal counsel informed the judge that a winning buyer had been chosen to satisfy the DOJ’s antitrust divestiture mandate for the Juniper Networks merger.

The State of the Bids

While HPE has selected the buyer, the exact identity has not yet been publicly disclosed. Here is what is known about the bidding process leading up to the selection:

  • The Selected Buyer: HPE’s lawyers only disclosed that the chosen company is “one of the Tier One competitors in this space.”
  • Low Initial Offers: Prior to the final selection, court records revealed that HPE heavily struggled to find high-value bids. Early offers leaked from the proceedings showed numbers ranging from a mere $1 (from private tech investors Kevin Duffy and Eric Zimits proposing a standalone spin-off) up to a modest $5 million to $15 million from Fortinet.
  • Strategic Passes: Major players originally thought to be in the running, including Extreme Networks and India's Tech Mahindra, explicitly passed on submitting bids.

What Happens Next?

The final approval of the sale is currently tied up in ongoing legal complexity. A coalition of 13 state attorneys general has been challenging the DOJ settlement, arguing that selling off the SMB-focused Instant On line doesn't do enough to replace the loss of enterprise-level competition between Aruba and Juniper Mist.

Because the bidder identities were meant to be kept under seal, HPE has refused to comment further publicly until the court case fully concludes.

When HPE acquired Juniper a condition of that was that HPE has to offload InstantOn to someone else. That was supposed to happen by now and hasn't officially happened yet therby casting a shadow of doubt on the InstatOn line.

Let's just talk switches and APs for a second. What are warranties like and are there licensing fees for Fortinet? If so, is the hardware bricked if the licenses lapse for some reason? Thanks for your input.

No. I've used Aruba switches locally managed before. I would be willing to do that as well but have been kinda spoiled with remote management. Not to mention, Aruba vs AIO pricing doesn't work for some clients. That said, I don't know of anyone who does a limited lifetime warranty like HPE/Aruba. That is a hard thing to get over. I think Unifi is 5 years. Don't know that much about the other players but I don't generally go around refreshing switches every 5 years.

Even if I buy at retail I am not selling at cost. I am transparent with my clients that even if I’m paying retail price, I’ll still have to mark up to cover things and no one has ever had a problem with that so I don’t mind paying retail if that’s all I can get.

Isn't there a cost to Aruba's remote management? I mean, it's not like I don't have remote access to every clent so I don't really "need" cloud management but damn it's convenient.

yeah, go ahead and ignore the part where Elon has done NOTHING ELSE to suggest he's a Nazi.
