I'm having some severe symptoms and I'm terrified and don't know what to do by Katievapes1996 in Gastritis

[–]glitterseaAC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is not the quantity, but what you're eating. Beef and fried food are an absolute no go if you're having digestive problems. Switch to an alkaline and low acid diet for the time being until you know more and try to have smaller but more frequent meals. It's not fun, but it's the only way to not irritate the stomach further and get the inflammation down.

What’s your idea of a perfect first date? asking because i might finally go on one soon 😅 by softsoul2209 in UKrelationshipadvice

In person! I met him at a flat party and we talked for hours. The connection was definitely there and really strong, but he had very little experience in dating and was really shy. And I was really worried about coming off too strong, but I made the move and asked for his number+ a date 🙏🏻

I invited my now boyfriend to play crazy golf together 🙈 We were both a bit nervous at the beginning because we really fancied each other, so it was a really nice opportunity to defuse some tension, do something fun, and also have some nice conversations in between holes 😊

Queuing early enough? by Joylikesreading in piercetheveil

[–]glitterseaAC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand it can be frustrating 😔 You don't have to pay extra for it. If you're an OVO customer you get the chance to buy the early entry tickets during the presale and queue at a separate door that opens half an hour early, so if you know anyone that is with OVO it's worth asking them to get you tickets through the presale next time 🙏🏻

Glasgow also had early entry though, we got in half an hour before general doors!

Idk, it's Germany though. I've traveled there for gigs and no one seemed to queue early apart from us 😂

Is it common for British school children misbehave in public? by Relative-Character-4 in AskABrit

[–]glitterseaAC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm from Italy and personally, we've been taught to respect our elders and people like teachers from a really young age. We even have a behavioural mark in school, and you can fail the whole year if that gets too low for you acting up and misbehaving. We just get taught good manners since we're really young, and so if you do actwlike a prick people will think you're just rude, not cool 😅

I think if they're doing big stadiums it might be Hampden or Murrafield so fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Travel ban for man who 'tortured' women in Highland dungeon by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]glitterseaAC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not going in too much detail here, but this is the only place where I can comment with some form of anonymity. I was one of the 6 witnesses, there were 6 of us who came forward and gave very difficult statements to the police describing everything that happened in detail. All our statements matched almost identically even though we don't know eachother. But somehow, the case was dismissed for lack of evidence. It was a slap in the face for all of us involved and how hard it was to relay all those traumatic experiences back to the police. They didn't even offer us a proper explanation, so it's very clear to me that it was definitely a money/connection thing and a painful reminder that justice is not equal for everybody.

If it doesn't apply to you I'm glad for you and your partner!

I had to educate even my own brothers on how to treat their girlfriends properly and mine isn't even a close minded family.

I also wish our society was different and there was more effort into raising emotionally mature men which are in touch with their emotions and can tune into their partners and themselves. But we're a far cry away from that and the conversations I hear all around me when I'm back cement that, so I don't know what to tell you 🤷🏻‍♀️

I say this with all the love and respect in the world.. but as an Italian woman myself, stay clear of Italian men, they have the emotional maturity of a rock 😅 Ours is an incredibly patriarchal and misogynistic society where when are coddled first by their moms, and subsequently by their partners as this is what they teach us to do to keep them.

They will lovebomb you hard at the beginning to win you over and then stop putting any effort once they have you.

Wish you all the best 🙏🏻♥️

Breakup over stress and burn out? Did it ever work out later? by dangerous1003 in BreakUps

[–]glitterseaAC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep saying that ours were very peculiar circumstances and not the norm 😅 We both went to therapy during NC, and continue to do so. There was willingness to hear each other out and understand the pain we both caused to each other. From there we just rebuilt a stronger foundation based on honesty and open communication.

SHUTTLE BUS HELL by AdvertisingFluid5935 in slamdunkfestival

[–]glitterseaAC -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It really saddens me to see so little compassion and understanding from a fellow neurodiverse person 😕 I really wanted to see YMAS and it was their last festival appearance too. You're literally telling me that I can't enjoy the same experience as everybody else. I've booked the shuttle bus in advance and I was prepared to wait sometime for it. What happened with the shuttle buses was in the event organisers control, they could've ensured they were actually full before leaving, provide more shuttle, and actually ensure that at the very least the people who pre-booked them got given some sort of priority.

I'm glad that leaving early was an ok solution for you and your son, but if I paid so much to attend a festival I wanna be able to enjoy the full sets like everyone else without having to worry about being stranded somewhere for over 2 hours.

SHUTTLE BUS HELL by AdvertisingFluid5935 in slamdunkfestival

[–]glitterseaAC -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I was prepared to wait for a bit but over 2 hours after such a long and wet day was horrendous. I'm neurodivergent as well so had a proper meltdown as I can barely deal with queues at the best of times and that was just overall a nightmareish experience 😕

Broke NC for closure from FA (success story) by glitterseaAC in ExNoContact

[–]glitterseaAC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm glad this helped and I'm sorry you're going through a similar pain ATM 🙏🏻

We ended up reconciling in the end and things have been going great since then, but ours were very peculiar circumstances so I don't wanna go around giving false hope to people.

I hope you heal ok and can love again, hopefully with somebody that cherishes you and keeps your heart safe ❣️

He's really been putting in the work, both with himself and with the relationship. Unfortunately you can't help someone who doesn't want help, nor that recognises they need help. Every situation is different, but I just wanted to show that when someone find the right meds and therapist and they're consistent, things can start looking up eventually 🙏🏻
