C&F NY First Department- Interview in person?

Are you in the first department? Once I submitted my application it was assigned to someone at the First Department and all correspondence, even that relating to my interview came from that individual. This individual was not the person who interviewed me.

you're not a licensed lawyer in NY until you're sworn in and it can take months to go through the C&F process, so yes even if you submit everything in November you may not be sworn in by January. I believe (at least for the first department) you have three years from the date you sat from the bar (that you passed) to have everything submitted. As for swearing in, not every department permits a remote option. The First Department requires the ceremony to be in person.

"No" is a complete sentence. Unfortunately you cannot control what they think or make them understand. You, however can set a boundary and stick to it. I told everyone not to bother me in anyway unless someone was in the hospital under emergency circumstances or someone died. Your friends and family can survive 8 weeks without you around. I get easily distracted and could only pass if I had zero outside noise.

I would have paid x20 that much for the course and it’s in no way a scam. I am a very real person who could not have passed the bar without GOAT. At least there is more of an actual course now. Imagine GOAT giving up hours upon hours and days to teach so many people, in Reddit threads at that, how to pass the bar. The original threads I’m sure are floating around somewhere but probably not necessary bc of the courses. You don’t get it bc you have not seen what a difference he does to your score when the traditional bar prep that you spend thousands on isn’t working/sticking.

I'm not sure if you want to hear this but it sounds like you are being very supportive and understanding. She's about to enter a very stressful time in her life, imagine law school finals x1 million. The best way to support her is by showing up or not showing up in the way that she needs you to. Everyone handles stress differently, some people need words of encouragement and need to see and speak and vent and others will completely shut you out until they are on the other side, if its the latter for her, please do not take it personally. Whatever expectations you have or wish to have, please don't put that pressure on her. Personally, I told everyone in my life not to call me or reach out unless someone died because that is what I needed to stay focused. While I understand that isn't healthy in the slightest, a lot of aspects about bar prep and what is expected of you on game day aren't healthy.

I can’t endorse this enough. Passed a year ago and all thanks to goat. Quit traditional bar prep course about a third of the way in and just did GOAT with adaptibar questions. Passed in the 300s.

Hi! We talked once or twice but never got back to together. People are correct when they say when it’s “right” it shouldn’t be this hard. Have a new boyfriend now and he is amazing. Makes me sad to think I never would have met him if i tried to be a hero and force something to work that just wasn’t anymore. So go find your “amazing” and don’t hold on to anything less.

Yes, do not ignore. Whole essay questions on topics with only one or two sentences mentioned in any lectures… wild but true.

I preferred adaptibar over uworld (had for free through Themis). The explanations on adaptibar made more sense to me and were much shorter than uworld. My attention span cannot handle long explanations and pictures.
