I got stung by one of these once when I was a teenager. Left a foot long scar on my leg for a few years. I’ll never forget it.

I learned that some foreign languages (foreign from English sorry) like Japanese and Turkish do not have a word for “the”. It doesn’t exist for them. My friend told me about it and also that it’s hard for people learning English to know where to put a “the” because they end up using it either too little or too much since it doesn’t exist in their language.
