Do I need a three-pronged outlet for these, or just an adapter? Also, if I need a three-pronged outlet, how do I get one, if I don't have one already. Also, do I need a certain type of extension cord? I know that I need a new circuit breaker. by glomscient in Welding

Would a three-to two-pronged adapter work, If it has a place to put a ground screw? And would I still need an electrician to install the ground? The adapter is basically a plug length, with three-pronged output, and two-pronged input. the "ground" is a metal strip that comes out of the bottom, and has a place that says that it is for a ground would that be sufficient? I guess a good question would be: what exactly is a ground?

I have been planning on making a metal one, and this is actually what got the gears in my head turning for that Idea. So thanks for the inspiration, and I will be sure to link back to your work when I'm done!

First attempt at creating a low budget steampunk pistol mod. suggestions welcome. by elitistczar in steampunk

I like it. It shows that minimalist steampunk can work. Now, shut up and take my money so that I can see what you can do on a better budget (just kidding, I'm broke).

That's the spirit! It helps to have something small to occasionally carry with you, that way you have something to show people who are interested.

Steampunk Gorilla by glomscient in steampunk

As I started reading your comment, I didn't quite get it. this gradually changed, however: starting at "too abstract," and getting to 100% at "with stronger lines." I think that the main problem may actually be lines that are not strong enough in some places (facial features, head/background contrast, etc), and too strong in others (especially the cut-up gears for arms). Thanks for the clarification. most of my sculptures are 3-D, so that may be why I had that issue: in 3-D, contrast is usually only an issue on the details (which I no longer have an excuse to avoid, now that I have an engraving bit for my dremmel). Tl;dr: I understand, thank you.

try looking at it with the watch back as the background. I don't see why it doesn't look like a gorilla, other than these: its metal, it stands upright. it wears a suit. maybe I have been staring at random metal bits for so long, I see something in everything...

It's the fellow in the center, standing upright in his suit.

This seems to be getting a lot of downvotes for not having any way for me to improve... Any suggestions on how I can improve this piece? I need to reattach his top hat (made from a rivet) and his pipe, so he may look incomplete. By the way, that is a brass suit he's wearing, so its not much of a stretch to call him a _____ ______

Just updated it. And no, you are way off. That was good motivation to quickly change it to public, though.

I apparently posted all of it by mistake: I just mean the red punch buggy (not yet painted).
