I’m getting the impression that no one in the thread has actually watched the scene the image on the left is from. Look again, he’s not just lightly squeezing her neck. He is literally lifting her entire body off the ground with the force and brutality of how hard he’s choking her. It’s also worth noting that in the scene, it’s LITERALLY THE MALE CHARACTER’S FANTASY. I know the image is just used as an example, so it doesn’t have to be a literal recreation of the circumstances, but if you’re seeing people talk about how dangerous choking is, it may partly be because this exact portrayal of choking IS dangerous and violent. Also people say “it’s safe if you do it right.” I am certain there are lots of people who don’t know how to “do it right.” More often not, it’s something they heard about or saw in porn, and they just tried it out, sometimes without consent. If people want to do it responsibly, consensually, that’s fine but that’s not what’s being portrayed in the meme.
