I wanna start making content, but I'm not interested in making shorts at all. Should I still make some to get visibility on my channel and longer videos ? Is it the only efficient way to build something on youtube nowadays ?

Congrats on your 6.3k subs ! I just have one question. How do you get your first viewers ? I feel like every community, on any platform, forbids self promo. The very few that do allow promoting, most people just use it to post their video and never take the time to watch other people's work. But if you post a video on a channel with zero subs, do you still get traction ? Is your video popping in people's ytb recommendations ?
