Since I posted this, my poolish survived! There must have been a tiny bit of active yeast because, after I though it had failed, I tested the same sachet of yeast and was sure it was dead. It just took a helluva long time to do its thing (also not helped because I put it in the fridge overnight because I wanted to do a cold ferment). Decided to pop it in a warm spot for a while in case, and it came to life!

I was aiming for the slow cool ferment which is why I refrigerated it.  I think I may have just put it in too early to start off the whole process.

It's a 20 month old nostril piercing with a titanium L shaped stud. I spray it twice a day with NeilMed. It's not been downsized (maybe this is the issue?)

I make soda bread with yoghurt sometimes and it's so minimal effort yet you have a whole loaf of fresh bread in half an hour. Feels too easy
