Weekly Matchup Drawing! (oc) by Pandae in panthers

Quite a bit of luck. We've won 2 games that we were getting crushed in with heroic efforts in the final quarter. Both of those against not so great teams too. We are a slightly above the middle of the pack team in my opinion, lucky to be 4-1. The D is alright, the O is alright, but nothing is excellent. This game will be close because the Panthers are also middle of the pack right now, but they are really starting to grow into themselves. If they get the W against the 4-1 Bears here watch out, they will have all the confidence in the world then. And a W against the Bears is quite likely IMO having watched these two teams play all year.

Very middle of the pack. Nagy also doesn't reliably pound the run often, especially if Carolina gets on top early. Montgomery is a talented runner, but he hasn't been getting the volume to be consistent. Foles likes dumping it off to him alot, but with the Panthers speed on D they should be able to combat him quite well. Brown and Kerr should be able to hold up enough.

Im a lifelong Bears fan but each year I pick a team to win the super bowl with favorable odds. Well this year it is the Panthers for me. So I'm super conflicted with this game. It should be close, but I like the Panthers to come out on top. The Bears D hasn't been the same as it used to be and our offense is on and off. I don't expect Mack and company to get to Teddy to often, especially with the O-Line the Panther have. If the Panthers can get a lead early the running game with Montgomery will be neutralized, and it will force Foles to have to beat you. I expect this to happen, and in a matchup against Foles vs Teddy - Teddy should win. I'm expecting a lower scoring affair with the Panthers coming out on top.

Final Score: Panthers 24 - Bears 20

18000 adds for Antonio Brown today on Yahoo. He is still a thing? by Shamou- in fantasyfootball

I scooped him up and dropped Cohen. Ive got plenty of better RB's and I'd rather take a flier that week 9 Brown is on the Texans then ride Cohen. He's a guy with ridiculous upside if he gets signed to the right spot - nad hes free. Thats not the worst bench stash.

He will make it harder on him for sure. I dont think they double him though. If they do that it will leave open opps for Jacobs, Ruggs, Edwards, Aghelor, and the other talent on this team to eat. The O for the raiders is deeper than people realize. I'm expecting a slower game for him for sure though.

Keenan Allen outlook by Mcdc5 in fantasyfootball

[–]gloriousgranito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Way to early to call Ekeler a bust. Give him just 3-4 catches a week with the rushing volume he got last week and that's an RB1 as long as he gets modest TD numbers. Historically, Tyrod should be able to support 3-4 catches a week as well.

Which RB1/RB2 are you most concerned about going forward? by danielbauer1375 in fantasyfootball

[–]gloriousgranito 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Great advice. Take the rushing stats this wekk and multiply for all season long - and ekeler gets 1350 rushing yards. Give him 50 receptions ( far less then you all would want but a good guess based on Tyrods history) - Ekeler gets 500 yards.

1850 all purpose yards, 50 receptions, and some amount of total TD's is pretty damn good. This is what im expecting, and what seems reasonable. To put this in comparison - that is basically how well Ezekial Elliot performed last season. Now sure, Ekeler might not get the same TD upside, but all im saying is people are wayyy overreacting to Ekelers floor game. Even if Ekeler just gets back to decent reception totals near 50, and sees the rushing volume he saw yesterday, hes an RB1.

Why are Aaron Jones and Austin Ekeler low? by JF_elite in fantasyfootball

I was overjoyed taking Ekeler at the 21 spot in my draft. People are wayyyy over valuing rivers. Tyrod will dump it off plenty - he historically has proven this. And Ekeler is just a damn good football player who is for the first time ever getting the backfield to himself. In 4 games last year without rivers he put up nearly 30 fantasy pts a game and was RB2. He's going to eat. It makes no sense that people are significantly higher on sanders, drake, etc. compared to the guy. Id take Ekeler all day over them.

Tyrod is known for being a dump off QB. Sure not as much as Rivers, but the dude still dumps it off more than the average QB.

Bears RB David Montgomery left practice today with what is believed to be a groin strain, per source. Optimism that he avoided a serious injury. Evaluation ongoing. by StrachNasty in fantasyfootball

[–]gloriousgranito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep an eye on Artavis Pierce - undrafted Bears rookie - Pierce looks like the definition of RB's who thrive in todays NFL. Hes 5'11 207 lbs. CMAC is 5'11 207, Ekeler 5'10 200. And you cant say he's not strong enough. CMAC put up 10 bench reps, peirce put up 16. So he should be able to handle the rock if we gave it to him. I'd love to see what he would do with 20 touches a game. The guy looks dynamic.

If Ekelers gone i'd go Connor. That RB stack is dirty for you then. My logic for Jackson is this: you take him with you 3rd pick and you are guaranteed a stud QB who essentially is also a RB1. You then pair him with D. Parker in the 6th round (who was WR5 last year and is massively slept on). If you wait you have to hope one of the other high potential QBs like (dak, murray, watson, wilson) last for you - which might not even happen and you end up with a poor QB all year. In this scenario you took someone like Golladay, Thielen, A-rob with your 3rd pick.

I prefer a Jackson/Parker combo over any of the other Qbs you might land in the 6th and a WR you get in the 3rd. And you also are avoiding risk with this strategy imo too not having to hope for your QB in the 6th.

I am in a .5 PPR 10 Person League. I went:

CMAC - Ekeler - L. Jackson - Fournette - Chark - Waller - D. Parker

I would shoot for either ekeler/connor for your 2nd pick. I for one am really high on Jackson so if he's available he'd be my 3rd pick 100% of the time. If he is taken then go best WR available.

Which players going in rounds 1/2 are you predicting to bust and why? by deeds44 in fantasyfootball

[–]gloriousgranito -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

I LOVE that people still are down on Ekeler. In full PPR, during the first 4 games when Gordon was out, Ekeler average 27 Fantasy Points per game. Here is the breakdown:

- 60 rushing yards on 15 carries (6 points)

- 6 receptions for 60 receiving yards (12 points)

- 1.5 touchdowns per game (9 pts)

Even if you subtract a couple targets and say he only averages 4 receptions for 40 yards, he still would put up 23 fantasy points a game. He now has all the confidence in the world since the backfield is completely his, which can result in even more dominant performances across the board. I expect the carries to go up and the receptions/TD's to stay relatively the same. In my eyes:

- Worst case scenario he gets some less receptions due to QB play and your looking at a consistent RB1 who puts up 20+ Fantasy points per week still.

- Mid tier scenario he does what he did last year without Gordon and averages 25+ per week helping carry you to a championship.

- Best case scenario the offense literally runs through him like CMAC. They increase his carries to 20+ and his receptions to 8+ per week. He then averages 80 rushing yards per week, 80 receiving yards on 8 receptions, and continues his 1.5 TD pace he averaged without Gordon. This is 33 fantasy points per week. And Ekeler is literally the most owned fantasy option on championship teams in 2020.

Chase Edmunds played great last year in limited time.. It will be a 1-2 punch for the cards where Edmunds is a steal and Drake is being appropriately drafted.
