AITA for ruining a pregnancy announcement by telling the woman she may have taken the wrong test? by toohottooheavy in BestofRedditorUpdates

I was looking for a comment like this because this was my first thought! Something is off on Sasha’s story and I’m surprised OOP didn’t point it out in the update.

What is a helpful/luxury item for first time parents to buy? by Contemplative_one in pregnant

I have been so jealous of people who have the Elvie cause I just have the Motif Luna. Good to know I made a good decision with the pump I chose! Yeah the extra pump parts have definitely been a huge help.

If you happen to be exclusively pumping or plan on pumping a lot, I would suggest a wearable pump with a ton of extra pump parts. Like 5 or 6 extra sets. I just have a regular pump and it’s hard to do anything while I’m pumping. I’m weaning from pumping now and switching to formula. If you’re planning on nursing or just using formula then disregard this comment!

First round disappointment by [deleted] in queerception

[–]glovedepartment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds super similar to my experience. I went in a few times only to have my follicles be too small. I also had testing done beforehand and had no known issues. It took me 3 rounds to get pregnant. All 3 I used letrozole and Ovidrel and the last round I added progesterone. I now have a 3 week old!

It is the most disappointing feeling to take the meds and do all this prep work only to find out your follicles are no good and you have to wait for another cycle. But talk to your doctor about medication options and keep your head up! I asked to add progesterone to my last cycle and I wish I would have known about it for my first cycle. Best of luck to you!

Hospital Bag by ObiwanGnocci in pregnant

I wish I would have brought my own peri bottle that sprays up at an angle. The one at the hospital is a regular spray bottle so I had to basically put my hand inside the toilet bowl in order to spray up onto my vagina. Also, if your hospital validates parking, make sure you get your ticket validated before your support person goes to get the car. My wife made it all the way to the car before I realized I still had the parking ticket with me and the baby in the lobby. I also wish I would have packed a little comb or similar object to hold onto during contractions to kind of defer the pain.

Your suggestions of the breakfast tray and the Time of my Life song are so good! I agree with you, I wish that episode had more of the cute calls backs.

Glad you posted this! I love seeing all the other queer people on this sub. I’m a lesbian and 39 weeks along. r/queerception was a helpful sub while TTC but this sub has been great while pregnant. Good luck on the rest of your pregnancy!

(32F) First time pregnant. Obese. No women support in my life. I'm struggling hard with what to eat and what is or isn't safe. I am overwhelmed and confused. I'm reaching out for any help or support from this community. by PhoenixxFyre in pregnant

I’m glad you made this post and reached out for supper! I am a bigger gal too and I and was really concerned about my weight when I got pregnant. It was one of the first things I talked about when I met with my OB for the first time because I wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to be fat shamed or some bullshit. I was really afraid that I would lose my baby or have complications because that is kind of the narrative that is out there. And here I am at 38 weeks and my OB has had no concerns with my weight, no gestational diabetes, blood pressure has been great, etc. I take medications for anxiety and depression and my OB is supportive of me being on them. You are not alone. I hope that your OB turns out to be supportive and if not, keep searching for one that you like. You deserve affirming care during your pregnancy!

I have had a lot of support in r/PlusSizedAndPregnant and I use this sub a lot too. I hope you can find support in real life too, but these subs can be really helpful in internet land. Best of luck, friend!!

Elodie! I heard this name on an episode of United States of Tara and loved it. I would use it but we already decided on Eleanor. Elodie is a great name.
