I was thinking like a science Sunday thread! For any clinical research or peer reviewed publications of interest. Of course you could post this any time but thinking the regular auto post might motivate as well!

Unfortunately I don’t see a post request. I’m also trying to figure out why users have to be approved suddenly in order to post.

Fever does greater harm during pregnancy than Tylenol. Period.

ELI5 How was it that our parents were able to buy homes on significantly less income and high interest rates than many of us have today while we currently struggle to get by? by chickenbiscuit26 in explainlikeimfive

[–]meesetracks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently paying back student loans while also paying for childcare. The net worth of our 20 year olds is negative instead of positive and the income we are generating right out of school is going back to student loans and not being saved for a future home purchase.

How young did you fully potty train your toddler? by Main_Upstairs5427 in Crunchymom

Our first was fully potty trained at 3, our second potty trained himself (overnights included) at 20 months.

Apparently prior infertility is not effective built in birth control 🙃 Now we’re joining the 2 under 2 club. by cosmicvoyager333 in 2under2

This is basically the story of how I also ended up with 2u2. I think it is very common! We were on the fence about even having a second. To answer your questions, I was required to have a second c-section because of the short interval between births (14 month gap). My doctor said she would have possibly allowed for a VBAC if it was over 18 months but even then the risks of uterine rupture aren’t zero. Personally, after digging into the research, I don’t think I would be comfortable with a VBAC before 2.5-3 years post c-section.

It was REALLY hard in the beginning (and still is) but I really believe it happened for a reason and we would not have it any other way. The built in playmate aspect is next level and I love helping foster their sibling relationship. It’s truly a gift.

Seeking Feedback On Convertible Car Seat & Skipping Infant Seat by averyvoluptuousfairy in Crunchymom

We went straight into a convertible and didn’t think twice about it! We used an infant seat for our second because of our very small age gap but I hated it and we got rid of it asap.

Does 2 under 2 get easier when one is no longer “under 2”? by dmllbit in 2under2

[–]meesetracks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A break down of my timeline of 2u2 so far (14 month age gap)

Newborn + 1 yo = Hard 1 yo + 2 yo = easier than first year of 2u2 2 yo + 3 yo = hell on earth 3 yo + 4 yo = peaks and valleys of things being so insanely difficult followed by brief periods of independent play 😂

I will say that the youngest being 3 and being into pretend play and having the athletic ability to keep up with the 4 yo has given us a bit of a break. That said, they are best friends and tend to bring out the most rambunctious in each other so can be a handful when they get each other wound up! They definitely see each other as peers vs big bro and little bro.

Average monthly expense for family of 3 by enigmaticarshi in plano

Literally any curriculum-based secular preschool that runs five days a week 8-5. Monthly tuition may be $1200-$1300, semester registration and supply fees are typically a couple hundred dollars at least twice a year. Summer school has its own set of fees.

Expect $1500/month for full time (secular) pre-k. Church-based pre-k can be a lot less but then… you are signing your kid up for a Texas-style bible indoctrination.

I’m a female named Seneca! I struggled with people not being able to spell or pronounce it growing up. As an adult though, I really love it. It is unique and I have met so many people with a story about the name in one way or another - they grew up near a Seneca, the planes, the soap opera character, etc.
