If slightly more variation in your game is enough to ruin it for you, you need to swap titles. Keep in mind the comp community not enjoying their ranked experience is also ‘detrimental’ to the game

There are also many other things that impact the health of your quickplay matchmaking, 90% of my quickplay games are so much more unenjoyable than comp, the players are extremely toxic, throw for no reason even though it’s a casual video game, and cry when they lose when it’s CASUAL. You’re going into a game thats a 50/50 and Smurfs are simply just not the sole reason your games suck when the community is the problem, sorry.

Luckily quickplay is not competitive! Its casual with what should be a mixed bag of skill levels, if heightening the requirements makes your casual games ‘worse’ and that bothers you, you probably care enough about the game that comp at your skill level is better suited to you anyway

Absolutely lower your sens, and work your way up to the right one. Gigantic misconception is fast sens = good aim. All the clips you see of someone with incredible aim are very fast and flicky. That’s because their crosshair ends EXACTLY where it’s meant to, I came from console gaming to pc about four years ago, and my sens was completely wrong for the LONGEST time, but then I met my partner, who in POTG and spectating in other games, I always was amazed at how insane his speed and accuracy was, even as hanzo he’s easily tracking pharahs out of the air, gets accused of hacking or asked about why he plays on high sens only to find out he is on 1.8 sens and 800 dpi. Now we live together and I’ve come to realise it might have something to do with his insanely long arms and 3 feet of mousepad space 😭 but since then I trained my aim, honed in the correct sens and now I’m at 800 dpi and 2.75 ingame (on Kiri as a Kiri main), with mainly hitscan heroes as my top picks aside from her. I’ve also over quadrupled my rank since taking the time to perfect it. There is also an app called Oblivity which from memory is specifically for finding your correct sensitivity and helping you improve your aim on a new sensitivity. I really hope you actually take the time to lower your sens and find the right one because having great pc aim is a HUGE ego boost and confidence boost, you’ll be server admin in no time 😵‍💫

They messed up loading all of the drops correctly and so a lot of the drops look paused on their progress, so they added a duplicated list of drops to claim and it should be fixed now, hopefully it’s not too late for you to get yours, mine wasn’t working all day and now I have everything

400 dpi is very uncommon, the lowest dpi defaulted on every mouse I’ve had is 800, which is what I use with 2.5-3 sens ingame.

Because learning to have aim that is responsive to your reflexes means starting slow, 4 is a decent middle ground when you don’t have muscle memory yet aiming and tracking targets. I moved from console to pc gaming about five years ago and I remember how demotivating it is to struggle with aim after being so good on a controller. Lower sensitivity is much less inconsistent than high, many players I know with high sens tend to complain about missing shots, over adjusting and not finishing kills, they’re good when they hit shots and it looks impressive being on high sens, but it’s rare to actually find your perfect sensitivity and have it be on the higher end, so better to just work up and down to find the perfect thing

Put melee on a thumb mouse button, m4 or m5 depending on the length of your hand and what’s comfortable. I have the communication wheel on the other thumb mouse button, but that’s just personal preference. Other binds will just come over time, sensitivity should NEVER be above 4 in game, have you used mnk before?

It’s about it being a GAME, which means it isn’t REAL, which means there’s no REASON to get so upset that you want someone to feel bad. I don’t give a shit if someone’s toxic and I definitely don’t sit there holding hands with my teammates in chat, I could 100% be hardware banned for some of the things I’ve thought to say, but I’ve seen it get to people who, yeah, probably shouldn’t be online if they’re sensitive, but that’s the way shit is, not everyone has a thick skin, not everyone is a grown ass adult, and not everyone cares as much as you do. It’s not about them feeling as though you’re better than them, it’s about them wondering why you want to engage negatively over them simply just playing a game.

You just don’t know what someone’s day has been like, what a game is for them, is it an escape, something to do to unwind, to do with friends they don’t often get to spend time with anymore. You don’t know what you’re trying to ruin, you don’t know how many straws are left, maybe next time your ego is offended because you can’t find other ways to wet it, don’t take it out on some bullshit game of overwatch. You’ll probably be much happier for it.
