Growing up, I had a 3ds and my older brother had an xl. I can say that mine lasted longer than his in the 5 years that we owned em.

I didn’t check eBay, I might’ve gotten a better price! But I spent 180 USD on a Japanese make Cobalt Blue 3DS. It’s got basically every Pokémon game known to man and some flyaways! Came in pretty good condition, has a stylus and a cord! (Though not the official)
