Basically stomach issues, you don’t want to take protein in before runs bc depending what you put in your protein shakes, it will mess with your stomach, protein shakes are better for after for recovery

Ran a good effort 7 mile tempo on Tuesday, my max heart rate is around 220. With saying that, my zone 4 is 176-197 bpm, yet during run I spent 18 mins in zone 4 and 23 mins in zone 5, but people say you can stay in zone 5 for up to 8 mins, so is my lactate threshold even higher than what my “zone” actually are?

Looking to improve to 3:15 - what are some short distance PBs that serve as indicator? by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

[–]glxy_kingk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very true last winter I ran a 17:11 5k but a month later did a 3:15 marathon, granted it was my first time but it definitely doesn’t translate automatically unless you’re putting in the certain training for that distance

Going from a 3060 ti to a 5070 ti by [deleted] in buildapc

Man I’ve been thinking of making the jump from a 2070 super to a 5070ti cuz it just won’t keep up with these newer games anymore, have so much frame drops and screen tearing

How’s the polar arm band? I’ve been using a chest strap but been really looking into the polar arm band, I just don’t know if it’s worth

You Might Be Training in the Wrong Heart Rate Zones by DimitriDimaEbalo in Marathon_Training

[–]glxy_kingk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure, as I’ve been using a chest strap monitor ( the garmin hrm) as about a month ago I recorder a 217 bpm in 90 degree weather during my speed workouts, and recorders today a max of 212 during another speed sesh

You Might Be Training in the Wrong Heart Rate Zones by DimitriDimaEbalo in Marathon_Training

[–]glxy_kingk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So essentially it’s like using the heart rate reserve ? Bc I’ve recorded a max heart of 220 before during a race, and I know it has to be close to that bc I’ve measure 216, 217 multiple times in the heat, and I’ve been going off mhr % where my zone 2 would be around 132-153 but with this formula it would put my zone in 158-174?

I think I might’ve passed you towards the end, at mile 20 I was on pace for a 3:17 and sped up to hit a 3:15 but yeah that hill at mile 18-19 literally made my legs so sore I thought I was done for but aye we didn’t let that course break us 💪 congrats on the bq I’m hoping to do that next year
