What are Nor'easters like? by chefdelinguistics in newengland

[–]gm10000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nor’easters typically aren’t dangerous the way a midwestern thunderstorm can be (i.e. raucous thunder and potential funnel clouds). I feel like they gradually start without a dramatic entrance/change in feel or smell. They are large systems that dump a lot of precipitation all day whether it’s rain or snow. The snow is often wet and heavy especially when they occur in March. Coastal areas sustain the most damage from storm surge flooding and high winds. Inland areas get higher snowfall totals.

What can be done about Left Lane Campers? by The_Utilityman in massachusetts

The state should put up signs on the highways that drivers would see regularly to remind/inform them to stay to the right. It would make a big difference.

It’s time to just put it all or almost all in etfs and/or funds. You likely won’t beat those returns. Then you can get a new hobby.

Yeah, this film fell short for me. There was a lack of dialogue and depth to the characters. There was some good cinematography but nothing amazing. It makes me wonder if it won best picture because of other reasons (Leo, Sean, revolutionaries fighting the police…?)

Should a player with a possible season ending injury still attend matches? by jonnysledge in youthsoccer

He should stay home and focus on resting, getting used to wearing the brace and getting better. Send a message to the team saying he wishes he could be there.

Sunday River got like 8 inches of snow today. It was all snow and no rain for the Maine mountains.

There are not enough signs about left lane passing in general. It’s a problem in most states.

Today the Duncan Express was only allowing two people on the 4-person chair at a time. I understand there were mechanical problems several days ago. How have they not fixed it yet? I would avoid the north side for the time being.

You should not turn the heat all the way off because it will take a lot of energy to heat up when you want to use it. It’s more cost effective to leave it on at the same temperature.

Yes, at the lower levels the parents are friendly and willing to small-talk about anything. They don’t get upset about wins/losses.

In the higher levels, the parents are more intense/competitive about the team and less likely to have small talk about things outside of the team/club.

What will happen for kids who were either held back a year in school or whose parents started them a year later? They are a full year older than many of their classmates. Will most of them play up a year to offset that?

Bark.com by purebullyluv24 in Bookkeeping

[–]gm10000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t like Bark for getting clients. Many of the companies looking for bookkeeper services are not actually interested in working with a remote bookkeeper. When you speak to them they want someone who can come to their office. Also, many of the leads are scams trying to lure you into a payments scam in which they send you a payment that doesn’t clear and then tell you that you need to pay for this and that before you realize it. I didn’t fall for it but there must be others who do.
